March Monthly Favorites and Reviews

Hellooo, everyone!  Today, I’m sharing with you my March Monthly Favorites!  These are all the products, from beauty to skincare, that I couldn’t put down last month.  I hope you enjoy!March Monthly Favorites and Reviews

MAKEUP

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer OilSmashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil:  Since moving to the literal desert, my skin has become bone dry.  My lighter foundation primers were not cutting it anymore so I gave this primer oil sample a go and I am obsessed.  It creates an extra barrier of moisture, but doesn’t feel heavy or overly greasy.  I am not sure it does much to prolong the longevity of my makeup, but foundation glides on top like butttaah and looks flawless.  If you have very dry skin, I highly recommend giving this primer oil a try.LA Girl Pro Matte Foundation in Light TanLA Girl Pro Matte Foundation in Light Tan:  I dedicated an entire blogpost review with swatches to this foundation, which you can find here.  In short, I LOVE this foundation!  The foundation gives full coverage, blurs imperfections, and gives an airbrushed matte finish that lasts all day.  This has quickly become my favorite matte foundation ever and I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Wet n Wild Contour Stick in Where's My WalnutWet n Wild Contour Stick in Where’s My Walnut?: I’ve been super into cream products lately and this Contour Stick is awesome, particularly for the price.  I can draw on my contour right where I want to define my cheekbones and bronze up my forehead.  The formula is very creamy and blends out quickly while staying on for about 6 hours.  Where’s My Walnut? is on the warmer side, which I personally don’t mind.  If anything, I hope they will add even more deeper shades to expand the range.Wet n Wild Contour Stick in Where's My Walnut SwatchesStellar Cosmic Face Powder in HazeStellar Cosmic Face Powder in Haze: I received this powder in a Ipsy Offer, and it is so good!  The powder is finely milled, doesn’t leave a white cast, and leaves your skin looking flawless.  I love baking and setting the undereye area with this powder.Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Hush BlushPretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Hush Blush:  I’ve been rocking this blush nonstop since I received it in this month’s Boxycharm (blogpost here).   This vintage-y gold packaging is super cute, but I am so impressed with this amazing blush formula.  The formula is creamy smooth, buttery, pigmented, and blends like a dream.  Hush Blush is a flattering mauvey pink shade that works with all eye looks.  This has quickly become one of my favorite new blushes.Pretty Vulgar Make Them Blush in Hush BlushColourpop Super Shock Highlighter in FlexitarianColourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Flexitarian: I had to order this highlighter after I swatched it at Ulta.  I already adore these Colourpop highlighters for their beautifully creamy, mousse-like formula, but this shade is insanely pigmented.  Flexitarian is an icy, crazy reflective shade that demands attention.  I love this for an intense highlight.Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter Swatches in FlexitarianNYX Tame and Frame Tinted Brow PomadeNYX Tame and Frame Tinted Brow Pomade:  I’m sorry this brow pomade looks like it took a beating 😂  I’ve been swimming more frequently as the weather heats up so I wanted a waterproof/ sweat-proof brow product for when a brow pencil can’t keep up.  Lemme tell you, this NYX brow pomade does not budge.  The formula is creamy, very pigmented, sets quickly, and will not move until you wash it off.  This is coming with me to the Dominican.Essence Super Precise EyelinerEssence Super Precise Eyeliner:  This liquid liner has a super fine brush tip that makes it a breeze to create the sharpest wing yet.  The formula is pitch black, dries matte, and long-lasting, but not completely waterproof.  I like using this Essence one first to create the precise wing, then filling in the rest with my Wet n Wild H2O Proof Liquid Liner to lock it in all day.Colourpop Super Shock ShadowsColourpop Super Shock Shadows: Ah yes, the OG Colourpop product.  These shadow pots have a whipped, mousse-like texture that is ultra creamy, pigmented, and long-lasting.  The matte shades blend well, but their metallic and glitter shades are standout to me.  The shades I kept reaching for all month was Melrose, a terracotta transition shade, Weenie, metallic rose gold from the Kathleen Lights Collection, and Nillionaire, a glittery taupe (pictured L-R).Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Lash Extension MascaraEssence Volume Stylist 18 hr Lash Extension Mascara: This is the best fiber mascara I’ve tried thus far.  I have short, stubby lashes that point straight down, so this mascara does not hold a curl unfortunately.  However, the fibers that are distributed evenly with the slim brush really thicken and elongate the lashes.  If you have non problematic lashes, this will give you crazy sky high lashes that will last until you remove it at the end of the night.

BEAUTY TOOLS

Morpe Highlight and Contour Beauty SpongeMorphe Highlight and Contour Beauty Sponge: I’ve been on a beauty sponge kick lately, using it for everything from blending in foundation, to baking, and applying highlighter. I dig the fun, bright red shade and flat sides of this Morphe Sponge.  Once dampened, it is super soft and blends out foundation/ concealer flawlessly, while the straight edges really gets powder right under the eyes and carves out the cheekbone.Morphe Highlight and Contour Beauty Sponge

SKINCARE

The Ordinary Peeling SolutionThe Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution: My skin broke out pretty badly last month (grrr 😒) and was in dire need of an all-over restart.  In comes this The Ordinary Peeling Solution to the rescue.  Be forewarned, this product has the smell and consistency of rotten cranberry juice and it stings like a mofo for the first 2-3 minutes after application.  If you can get past that, you can reap its benefits.  After rinsing off this blood-like mask, my skin felt baby smooth, brighter, and revitalized.  This is still hands down my favorite find from my Ordinary Skincare Haul (blogpost here).  Elizavecca Milkypiggy Hell-Pore Clean Up MaskElizavecca Milkypiggy Hell-Pore Clean Up Mask: After I’ve washed off the Ordinary Peeling Solution, I apply a layer of this thick mask all over and wait about 20 minutes for it to dry completely.  I’ll be honest, it can sting as you’re peeling it off because it clings onto every peach fuzz on your face as you rip it off so be wary around your hairline and brows 😉 I like focusing the mask particularly around my nose because it works as well as a pore strip.  Is it just me or is it grossly satisfying to visibly see your pores being cleaned?  After this two step facial process, my skin looks noticeably brighter and squeaky clean.  I dig it!

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your favorite products from the month of March?

XO,

Mary Dee
