Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette Review

Happy Monday, y’all!  I hope everyone had a great weekend 🙂  Today, we are kick-starting the week with a review of the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette!  I did not pick up this palette during its initial launch last year and after it quickly sold out, I had a serious case of FOMO.  When this relaunched in early December with limited quantities, I HAD to order it.  Although this particular palette is now out of stock and no longer available in US Sephoras (as of today), the Champagne Collection is still very much in stock so I wanted to review their formula for you in case you were interested in their other products (ex. Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duos).  I was introduced to the Becca highlighters in the Afterglow Palette from Ulta and thoroughly enjoyed the creamy, pigmented formula.  After hearing all the hype, I couldn’t wait to put this palette to the test and see how it stacks up.IMG_20161202_215646What it is:  A collaboration with Jaclyn Hill, the creator of the original Champagne Pop, this limited-edition face palette features five iconic shades to give you all the customized glow you want. Mix and match two Shimmering Skin Perfector highlighters (Champagne Pop & Prosecco Pop), two shades of Mineral Blush (Amaretto & Pamplemousse) and a pop of color with Luminous Blush (Rosé Spritz) to create endless layers of light and color (Sephora AU).

Price: $52

Packaging:

I love the ultra chic, white and gold packaging.  It is pretty lightweight, yet feels sturdy in the hands, and stays closed with a strong hatch closure.  This is so travel friendly as it holds all the highlighters and blushes you would need on a trip.  If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to print the name of the shades on the inside as opposed to the back of the palette, but it’s no biggie as there are only 5 different shades.

Formula:

I adore the formula of these highlighters and blushes!  They are just the amazing quality you have come to expect from the Becca brand.  The blushes are so creamy and fallout is minimal when dipping my brush in these powders.  The highlighters are so smooth and finely milled, imparting a stunning sheen without a hint of glitter.  They are insanely pigmented so a little goes a long way or you can pack it on for intense luminosity.

Color:IMG_20161202_215820  The Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed in Champagne Pop looks exactly like the “bubbly” name suggests, while Prosecco Pop leans more gold.  The Mineral Blush in Amaretto is a matte, warm, terracotta while Pamplemousse is a matte, bright pink.  Lastly, the Luminous Blush in Rosé Spritz is a gorgeous shimmery, peachy-pink topper.  To be honest, I did not initially think Amaretto would be pigmented enough to show up against my golden-tan skintone and I do not gravitate towards pink shades, such as Pamplemousse whatsoever.  However, I was blown away by how pigmented and universally flattering these blushes and highlighters are.

I like using a fan brush to apply a mix of Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop on the high-points of the cheekbones and brow bone.  For blush, I love layering Rose Spritz on top of Amaretto.  I prefer a natural glow for everyday, but if desired, you can really pack on the highlighter for photos or a night out.

Overall Rating:  I admit, I am a fan of Jaclyn Hill’s YouTube videos, but I held this product to very high expectations because of the hype and high price point.  I award this rating, completely independent of my feelings towards her, and solely on the performance of the product.  That said, I rate this Becca x Jaclyn Hill Face Palette as 10/10 stars!   I LOVE this gorgeous assortment of high quality highlighters and blushes.  Yes, the $52 price tag is an investment, but I believe this stellar product is worth every penny.  Their creamy formula and beautiful pigmentation would look so stunning on a wide range of skintones.  I love each and every color in this palette and would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite shade.  I see myself traveling with this palette and will be using it for many years to come.  If the other products in the Champagne Collection share the same formula, I would highly recommend them as an amazing addition to your blush and highlight collection!

Have you tried this Face Palette or any of the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection?  What are your thoughts on the products? 🙂
