February Monthly Favorites and Reviews

Hellooo, everyone!  Today, I’m sharing with you my February Monthly Favorites!  These are all the products, from beauty to skincare, that I couldn’t put down last month.  I hope you enjoy!20180303_140957

MAKEUP

20180303_141201Becca First Light Priming Filter:  While this primer has a light lavender tint in the bottle, it doesn’t show up once it’s been blended into the skin.  It feels very lightweight and moisturizing, gives a very natural luminosity to the skin, and foundation glides on top like buttaaah.  I’m already stressing about what I’m gonna do once I run out of this sample because I like it so much, and it costs a pretty penny 😂20180303_141658Missha Magic Cushion in No. 23:  The white and silver packaging, while bulky, is tres chic and you’ll never have to worry about leaky or broken glass bottles in your travel bag.  I like applying this foundation with a damp beauty sponge instead of the puff included in the compact.  This gives medium coverage with a beautiful dewy finish so it is better suited for dry skintypes.  My biggest gripe with this product is the shade selection, as is usually the case with asian makeup, which is a shame because the formula is fab.  This shade is about 6 shades too light for me, so I like to mix it with this next product.20180303_14173920180303_14171920180303_141521ELF Moisturizing Foundation Stick in Coffee: To darken my Missha Magic Cushion, I put this darker shade around the perimeter of my face and blend it in with the same beauty sponge.  It matches my skin tone really well, while providing overall bronzing and contouring as well.  This foundation is also on the dewy side, which makes it glide on super smoothly and blends out like a dream.20180303_142250Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in That Glow: I rediscovered this highlighter kit in my collection after one of the pans cracked in my Z-Palette.  I know it’s impossible to tell which pan is the one I re-pressed 😂 I had forgotten how creamy and pigmented the formula is, while the shade selection is gorgeous.  This is still the best highlighter kit from ABH, in my opinion.20180303_14231120180303_141907Milani Baked Blush in Rose D’Oro:  Milani’s Baked Blushes are so pigmented and blend out like a dream.  Rose D’Oro is a gorgeous peachy pink blush with subtle gold shimmer throughout.  The shimmer is so finely milled that it gives a gorgeous glow to the cheekbones, but doesn’t compete with your highlighter.20180303_141825NYX Cream Blush in Tea Rose:  This was the only blush I wore throughout college.  Crazy right?  I decided to give this another go and now I remember why I loved this cream blush so much.  The formula is so creamy and pigmented, so a little goes a long way and it lasts all day.  Cream blushes look very natural as they sink into the skin, as opposed to sitting on top as powder blushes tend to do.20180303_141311Colourpop Lippie Stix in Hotline:  This is the Matte X formula, which happens to be my favorite finish in the Lippie Stix line.  They are creamy, pigmented, and dry down to a true matte finish.  They are on the drying side though, so be sure to exfoliate and moisturize the lips beforehand.  Hotline is a beautiful, flattering peachy nude shade that looks amazing with smokey eyes.20180303_141341Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Love Bug:  This color is so beautiful I could cry.  Love Bug is a stunning terracotta red that would look so flattering on everyone.  The Ultra Matte formula is transfer-proof and long-lasting, but isn’t uncomfortably drying at all.  I LOVE this lip color!

BEAUTY TOOLS

20180303_142109Original BeautyBlender: No, this is not the nude Beautyblender.  It is just the purple one… that I forgot to clean before taking its photo 🙈 Apologies!  I have been reaching for this sponge all last month for everything from applying foundation, to blending out my concealer, to baking, and dabbing on highlighter.  I love affordable beauty sponges, such as the EcoTools or L’Oreal one, and believe they work just as well.  Still, the Beautyblender gives a beautiful flawless finish to my makeup that lasts all day.

NAILCARE

20180303_141103Formula X Nail Color in Revved Up: This polish has a great opaque and long-lasting formula, but what is standout is this stunning color.  Revved Up is essentially the best champagne highlighter shade, for your fingers.  It looks gorgeous on the hands and toes, and also as accent nails.  I’ve been rocking this shade nonstop.

SKINCARE

20180303_141443Josie Maran Moisturizer: I’m fairly certain you will hate this moisturizer if you have oily skin, as it is very thick and emollient.  However, if you have dry skin like myself, you will love how rich and moisturizing this is.  It makes a great base for makeup as my foundation glides over it without clinging to any dry patches.  As a bonus, it has a high SPF 47, but doesn’t leave a gray cast.

BODYCARE

20180303_141956Barefoot Venus Wild Flower Instant Hand Repair: This hand cream smells so good!  It has a lovely fresh scent, feels moisturizing, and absorbs quickly so there’s no lasting greasy feeling.  I’m reapplying this all day long to provide some hydration relief for my dry, cracked hands.20180303_142145The Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Body Butter: I love every scent I’ve tried from the The Body Shop’s Body Butters, but this might be my top favorite ever.  It truly smells like freshly picked roses, which is absolutely divine, if you love the scent of roses like I do.  The rich cream is a welcome drink of moisture ,which absorbs quickly and leaves the lingering scent.  I don’t ever want to be without this scent.

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your favorite products from the month of February?

XO,

Mary Dee
