Essence Cosmetics Mini Haul and Reviews

Hi loves!!!  I’m dropping in today with a quick review of some goodies I picked up from Essence Cosmetics!  I spotted these while browsing the Ulta store and couldn’t resist the cute packaging 😉  I love the Essence brand as they are super affordable, while still providing great quality products.  I’ll be putting together a blogpost listing my top favorite products from the brand so stay tuned for that as well.IMG_20170417_103835_784

  1. Lash Princess False Lash Mascara – Retail Price $4.99

IMG_20170419_172813_486The original Lash Princess has a big and bold sister with voluminous false lash effects! The conic shape fiber brush provides lashes with dramatic volume and sculpted length (website).  I adore this black and green, doll-like packaging!  This might be the prettiest mascara I own.  I like the narrow brush which helps grab those small lashes in the inner/outer corners.  The formula is jet-black and quickly builds volume and length to your lashes.  Because my lashes are short, sparse, and point straight down (the trifecta! 🙁 ), this formula is too wet for me and couldn’t hold a curl.  Guess I have to stick to my waterproof mascaras *sigh*.  Nevertheless, this is an amazing mascara and I wholly recommend it to anyone with non-problematic lashes.  Overall Rating: 10/10 stars.IMG_20170419_173038_668

  1. Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara in Soft Browny Brows – Retail Price $2.99

20170425_110421This new tinted gel formula contains tiny fibers that fills in gaps to create fuller, more defined eyebrows. The perfectly sized fiber brush shapes and tames to brow perfection (website).  I love this compact packaging and how the small brush allows you to dispense the product evenly throughout the brows.  For full glam brows, I would recommend first using a pencil or pomade to define the arch and extend the tail, followed by this gel.  The tinted fibers help plump up the hair for fuller looking brows.   I personally like using this alone on light makeup days just to lightly fill in sparse areas and hold the hairs in place.  Overall Rating: 9/10 stars.

  1. The Gel Nail Polish in Dream On – Retail Price $1.99

IMG_20170420_105352_415This gel nail polish provides incredible gel shine in beautiful colors, and no lamp required! New color crush technology ensures high intensity color impact and coverage (website).  From the color on the bottle, I was expecting Dream On to be a cool eggshell shade, but it is actually more of a warm, beige- cream.  The flat brush conforms nicely to the nail spreading each coat evenly.  However, like most nude shades, this was not fully opaque until 3 solid coats.  Sadly, I found nicks in my nails 30 minutes after I’ve already applied my CND Quick Dry Top Coat, which my other polishes would have been fully dried by then 🙁  I love the color selection and price tag of these nail polishes, but I definitely still prefer my Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Polish over this.  Overall Rating: 6/10 stars.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my recent purchases from Essence Cosmetics and look forward to trying even more products from their line.  I got my eye on their Vibrant Lipsticks and Blushes 😉 Thank you so much for reading and I’ll be seeing you in my next blogpost coming this week!
