My Current Daytime Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

Not too long ago, I dedicated an entire blogpost to my nighttime skincare routine, which you can find here.  Today, I wanted to share with you my current daytime skincare routine!  While it is not as extensive as my nighttime routine, there’s still a healthy amount of steps. My Current Daytime Skincare Routine for Dry SkinI have very dry skin so hydrating and moisturizing is essential for healthy looking skin, and crucial for a smooth makeup application.  The following products make up my current daytime skincare routine:My Current Daytime Skincare Routine for Dry SkinStep 1: Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam – Retail Price $9 – Buy hereInnisfree Green Tea Cleansing FoamThis mild cleansing foam cleanser contains juju organic green tea moisturizing, antioxidant ingredients and kaolin.  It washes off not only makeup residue but also soft facial hair impurities (amazon.com).  My morning cleansing routine is very simple, as there is no makeup removal, so a cream cleanser is all I need.  This gentle cleansing foam lathers up nicely, removes impurities, and rinses clean without drying out my skin.  Would I repurchase another?  Unlikely, since I want to try a different product, but it still performs well and gets the job done.

Step 2: Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence – Retail Price $39 – Buy hereMissha Time Revolution The First Treatment EssenceThe First Treatment Essence improves fine lines and skin tone. The miracle water hydrates, restores, rejuvenates, and gives you a glowing complexion (missha.com).  Essences are one of those products I am not sure makes a difference, until I remove it from my skincare routine.  This essence is very watery, lightweight, and absorbs quickly.  It doesn’t dramatically whiten my acne scars, but I see a huge difference in evening the overall texture.  I use this every morning and night to keep my skin looking more smooth, plump, and radiant.  I’ve repurchased this numerous times.

Step 3: Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment – Retail Price $38 – Buy hereTarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye TreatmentA rich (but not greasy) daily eye cream that smooths, hydrates, brightens, fights visible signs of aging.  Maracuja C-Brighter™ Eye Treatment makes you look refreshed while providing skin superfoods that give long-term benefits. C-brighter™ complex of antioxidant plant extracts fights free radicals responsible for sagging, crow’s feet, and puffiness (sephora.com).  This is an all around great lightweight and hydrating eye cream.  I use it in both the morning and night.  I don’t see it making a difference in my dark circles, but it does keep my under-eyes moisturized before makeup application.  As an added bonus, I really like the chic gold and purple packaging.

Step 4: Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing Lotion – Not AvailableEtude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing LotionUnfortunately, it looks like this lotion is no longer available, but a similar one is the Etude Moistfull Collagen Emulsion, which you can find here.  I love the adorable green packaging and fresh, uplifting scent.  This is a nice, lightweight everyday moisturizer.

Step 5: Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Sunscreen – Retail Price $49 – Buy hereLancome Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 SunscreenContaining a complex of nurturing vitamins E, B5 and CG plus high potency moisturization, this greaseless formula provides 24-hour hydration. Your skin will look its healthy best and feel touchably soft all day. With Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen and essential antioxidant protection, Bienfait Multi-Vital gives your skin what it needs to help fight the visible effects of environmental skin damage (ulta.com). This Lancome moisturizer is an alternative option, particularly if you are looking for a product with built in SPF.  It feels very lightweight, doesn’t leave a gray cast, and has never clogged my pores.

Step 6: Milani Prep + Brighten Rose Face Oil – Retail Price $14 – Buy hereMilani Prep + Brighten Rose Face OilOur Rose Face Oil is an indulgent custom blend of Vitamin C, Sunflower, Apricot Kernel, Sweet Almond, and Crambe Abyssinica Oils designed to brighten and balance your skin. Weightless and fast absorbing, it nourishes the skin and replenishes moisture for a youthful, dewy glow. May be used on the face, hair, and body (milanicosmetics.com). I have been obsessed with this Rose Oil since ordering it in a Milani Haul (blogpost here).  I adore the heavenly rose scent and chic rose gold packaging, but I’ve also noticed more moisturization and overall brightening in my skin.  Milani’s Oil is not as thick as the Josie Maran Argan Oil or Tarte Maracuja Oil, so it absorbs quicker into the skin, creating a smooth canvas for makeup application.  I used to have dry patches around my nose which foundation loved to cling through, but I no longer have that problem.  I can’t recommend this rose oil enough.

Step 7: Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater – Retail Price $12 – Buy hereMario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and RosewaterRevitalize skin with dewy radiance. Whether spritzed for a hydrating boost or mid-day pick-me-up, our cult-favorite facial spray helps revive dehydrated skin anytime, anywhere. It’s a rejuvenating mist infused with herbal and botanical extracts (like Aloe Vera, Gardenia, Rose, Bladderwrack and Thyme) that help soothe and re-energize skin—giving it a healthy, radiant glow (mariobadescu.com).  Can you tell I love all things rose-scented?  If I’m feeling extra or my skin needs a little pick me up, I finish with a healthy spritz of this Mario Badescu Facial Spray.  The rosewater scent is absolutely divine, which gives me an extra boost of energy and moisture.  Love this stuff.

Have you tried any of these skincare products?  What are your favorite skincare recommendations?

Mary Dee

I don’t think I’ve come across a cream cleanser that foams. I do have one by Nivea that I adore, but it doesen’t foam at all. Green tea in skincare is just a ingredient I love in skincare, so whenever I see that ingredient I’m like “Yup, I’ll be trying that” hahaha 😀

It lathers up pretty well, but it’s not as foamy as say, the bubbling masks or a clear gel cleanser 🙂 Still, it is nice! And I totally gotchu girl. Green Tea is your weakness 😉 Mine is anything rose related lol

What are your thoughts? I would love to hear from you :)
