January Monthly Empties and Reviews: Makeup, Skincare, Health, Bodycare

Hi dolls! Today, I’m sharing with you my Product Empties from the month of January, encompassing makeup, skincare, bodycare, and even a little health/ lifestyle. Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.

MAKEUP

Fenty Beauty Brow MVP Brow Pencil in Dark Brown

Fenty Beauty Brow MVP Brow Pencil in Dark Brown:  When it comes to brow pencils, there are so many affordable options at the drugstore that it’s hard for me to justify paying over $10 for one. That said, I received this Fenty Brow MVP in a Boxycharm and it worked perfectly fine for quickly filling in brows with natural brow strokes. I also appreciate that it includes a unique shaped spoolie on the other end to blend out the product. If you are looking for an affordable alternative that works just as well, check out the ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil here or L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer here.

SKINCARE

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water: This Micellar Water is a staple in my skincare routine and a repeat empties. I saturate a cotton round with this magical elixir to remove all my makeup, from foundation to waterproof mascara. It takes off everything and doesn’t dry out or irritate my skin whatsoever. This is a holy grail item that I will continue to repurchase. Buy here.

Cerave Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser

Cerave Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser: I’ve heard good things about Cerave Skincare for quite some time, but have never tried them as they faded into the background at the drugstore and quite frankly, the packaging bored me to tears 😂 When my girlfriend came back from her dermatologist with these samples of their Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser, I decided to finally give the brand a try. I’ve been having the worst acne breakouts on my chin and lower cheeks lately and was willing to try anything at this point to find some relief. I was immediately impressed with how this ultra gentle benzoyl peroxide cleanser helped calm my breakouts without drying them out further. I enjoyed it so much I purchased the full size right away. Stay tuned for a full blogpost review! Buy here.

By Wishtrend Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream

By Wishtrend Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream: I understand that this moisturizer is meant to be used in conjunction with a Vitamin C Serum to boost its brightening effects, which I did pair with the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin drop (review here, buy here). I adore By Wishtrend, but this moisturizer failed to impress me enough to warrant a repurchase. It is not bad by any means, as it does provide ample, yet lightweight hydration for someone with normal to combo/oily skin type. For my severely dry skin, it is just not standout for me. If you are looking for a more affordable and effective brightening cream, I highly recommend checking out the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream, which I adore (review here, buy here). Buy here.

TonyMoly Minions Blemish Patch These are the cutest pimple patches in the entire world. They’re little hearts! While looking adorable on, they work throughout the night to help minimize the size of blemishes and reduce impurities in the pores. These are not miracle workers that will degunk your pores overnight, but I do find them highly effective in reducing the inflamed pimples and let’s be honest, prevent me from picking at them, thus speeding up the healing process. Buy here.

HEALTH/ LIFESTYLE

Vital Proteins Beauty Boost Dietary Supplements

Vital Proteins Beauty Boost:  This supplement offers hair, skin, and nail support as well as boosting collagen synthesis with every serving. These plant-based capsules include 200% DV vitamin C, 500% DV biotin and 133% DV vitamin E. The serving of 2 capsules per day are an easy boost to my beauty routine and I love the skin friendly ingredients. However, I have finished the entire month supply and I can’t say I see enough of an improvement or change to justify the price. If you are looking for a great supplement from Vital Proteins, I much prefer their Original Collagen Peptide Powder, which you can buy here.

BODYCARE

Merci Handy Slime Shower Jelly

Merci Handy Slime Shower Jelly:  The name perfectly describes this uniquely slime textured shower jelly. Although it is thick, it lathers up nicely and rinses clean, without stripping it of moisture. I quite enjoy the sweet, warm vanilla scent as well. Buy here.

Have you tried any of these products?  How did they work for you?
