Boxycharm Premium April 2020 Spoilers and Review

Happy Monday, Fam! Today, I’m sharing with you my review of April’s Boxycharm Premium!  You can find my review on April’s Base Box here or March’s Boxycharm Premium here.  Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5 full-sized items for $25/month.  Boxycharm Premium is a tier above the Base box, and provides 6-7 full-sized items for $35/month.  You can subscribe to both the Premium and Base box simultaneously, and receive different items in each box.  What I like about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the price (sign up here).April’s theme is Festival Vibes, and comes with 6 products.

1. Lunar Beauty Life’s a Drag Color Palette – $45 (Buy here)

Feel the fantasy come alive in this fierce and fabulous 14 pan palette. This cruelty-free, playful palette contains all the perfect shades which holds effortlessly to the eyes and blends smoothly and evenly (lunarbeauty.com). I don’t think pictures do this palette justice. It is so much prettier in person. The palette is on the larger size, has a sturdy quality weight to it, and includes a nice mirror plus double ended brush. Even though I like to hang around the neutral shades on the left side, I appreciate the pop of brights on the right for when I want to play with color. The primarily matte eyeshadows are creamy, buttery, and pigmented, while the two shimmers in the center give the most beautiful sheen, like a pressed pigment. I love the formula, but also the shade selection, which has everything I need to create a full eye look. Admittedly, I reeeally wanted the Farmacy Honey Mask initially, but I’m very impressed with this fantastic palette and happy I received it after all.

2. Peach and Lily The Good Acids Pore Toner – $39 (Buy here)

This pH-adjusting toner helps gently slough away dead skin cells, leaving pores clean and ready to absorb beneficial skincare ingredients. Starring AHA to loosen dead skin cells and a blend of nourishing botanical extracts to calm inflammation, this is your fast lane to sparkly pores (peachandlily.com). This was my choice item so you already know I was eagerly anticipating this product.  This toner is absolutely gorgeous!  Everything from the frosted glass bottle to crystal blue color is so luxurious, and the formula feels just as fabulous on the skin.  As a part of my nightime skincare routine, I soak a cotton pad with a generous amount of toner and sweep it over my skin to remove any impurities leftover after my cleanser. It is so gentle and leaves my skin feeling clean, calm, and hydrated. This is easily my favorite product in the box!

3. Lavido Age Away Replenishing Cream – $69 (Buy Here)

Made with 11 innovative plant actives, this advanced anti-aging solution is clinically proven to diminish the appearance of dryness, wrinkles and rough texture while it deeply nourishes mature and compromised skin. Its rich, ultra-luxurious texture features Summer Snowflake, scientifically proven to strengthen cell integrity, slow the aging process, and stimulate new cellular regeneration (lavido.com). This was my first time hearing of the Lavido brand, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The travel friendly squeeze tube dispenses a thick cream that instantly hydrates the skin, without feeling heavy or greasy. If you don’t like fragrances in your skincare, this might not be for you as it has a strong herbal scent. I have been using this as both my daytime and nighttime moisturizer and so far, I’m enjoying it, but not enough to warrant a repurchase in the future.

4. Opulent Beauty Crystal Clear 3 Piece Brush Collection – $40 (Buy Here)

A full-sized, ultra-soft, cruelty free Crystal Clear Brush Collection to create a flawless canvas for makeup. Effortlessly and flawlessly apply your favorite skincare, foundation, complexion products, highlighters and powders (boxycharm.com). No offense to the Opulent Beauty brand, but I am fairly certain this was a filler item :/ As soft as the bristles feel to the touch, I am just not excited about this brush set so will likely be giving this away.

5. Too Faced Rich and Dazzling Lip Gloss in Hidden Talents – $21 (Buy Here)

Each twinkling shade of this dazzling gloss wraps your lips in luxurious dimension. The combination of light-reflecting glitters in this comfortable formula, enriched with natural oils, gives you a lip experience so rich and indulgent, you’ll feel like you’re dripping in diamonds (sephora.com). I am disappointed as I have received this same glittery gloss in a previous Boxycharm.  The color and packaging is beautiful, but as a personal preference, I am so over shimmery/ glittery lip products. Unfortunately, this is another pass.

    6.  Wander Beauty Mile High Club Volume and Length Mascara – $26 (Buy Here)

One swipe is all you need for sky-high lashes with this volumizing and lengthening mascara. Precise bristles grab and coat every lash for a flirty and fanned out effect, while jet black pigment intensely saturates. Smudge-proof, flake proof and water-resistant for all-day wear. Peach leaf extract and castor oil condition and help strengthen lashes (amazon.com). I like the narrow size brush which makes it a breeze to reach to those smaller bottom lashes and in the corners.  The formula is pitch black and adds length plus definition, but not as volume as I prefer. If you like a very natural lash, you will love this as it gives you clump free, fluttery, defined lashes.Overall Rating: I’m fairly happy with April’s Boxycharm Premium so I’m giving it a rating of 7/10 stars.  April’s box has a combined value of $240, which is pretty high, admittedly. What disappointed me about this box are the Too Faced Lipgloss, which was a repeat product, and the Opulent Beauty Brush Set, which is an obvious filler item. However, the two products that redeemed this box for me are the Lunar Beauty Life’s a Drag Palette and Peach & Lily The Good Acids Pore Toner.
