E.L.F. Cosmetics Haul & Reviews

Happy Tuesday, loves!   I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas weekend with their loved ones 🙂  I’m stoked to be back today to share with you the goodies from my recent ELF Cosmetics Haul!  I love the ELF  brand as it is super affordable and easily accessible at the drugstores, all while having such high quality products.  So when they had a 50% off sale on the majority of items on their website, I jumped on that right quick 😉  Some of these products are repurchases while others are new to me.  Let’s dive right in and see how they performed!

  1. Makeup Mist & Set: IMG_20160614_125926This is my favorite drugstore makeup setting spray, ever!  I have gone through numerous bottles of these and will continue buying them over and over again until a better priced, better quality spray is available.  Unlikely 😉
  2. Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths:IMG_20161227_125530_711  I like the sleek matte packaging and the cloths have a pleasant floral scent, while doing a good job of removing face makeup (foundation, concealer, blush, etc).  I still have to use some Garnier Micellar Water on a cotton pad to remove stubborn waterproof mascara as usual.  My current favorite makeup wipes are the Costco Kirkland ones and these ELF ones are quite comparable in terms of performance.
  3. Foundation Blurring Brush:IMG_20161202_211827  These brushes are sooo soft and feel luxurious.  I feel like the bristles of this brush are not densely packed enough for me to buff in foundation, but they work better for blending in cream blush and bronzers.
  4. Flawless Face Brush:  This brush is equally soft and glide so effortlessly over the skin.  It is great for powdering and/or bronzing the skin.
  5. Hydrating Face Primer:  IMG_20161221_135410_610I am not sure if this primer increased the longevity of my foundation, but it did make a nice, silicone-y base for smoothing the skin and gave some additional moisture.  This is a good primer for only $6, or in this case, $3 with the sale.
  6. High Definition Undereye Setting Powder:IMG_20161221_135818_618  This isn’t the most travel-friendly packaging, but it is chic and the sifter distributes a nice amount of setting powder at a time.  I detect shimmer in the jar, but the shimmer is brushed away when applied on the skin.  This won’t be replacing my favorite banana powder from the Wet n Wild Contouring Palette, which provides additional coverage, but it does provide a flawless finish under the eyes.
  7. Instant Lift Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown:IMG_20161128_145249  This shade works great with my coloring, the pencil is soft/doesn’t drag, and bonus points for including a spoolie on the other end for blending. The only improvement I could think of is that I wish it had a sharpener as the tip dulls down after repeated use so you can’t get that ultra sharp tip at the outer brows.
  8. Matte Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in Fiji:IMG_20161221_140031_279  The blush (left) is so soft, pigmented, and pretty for a neutral rosy flush.  However, I was disappointed in the bronzer (right).  This might work better for someone with fairer skin.  For my own golden-tanned skin, it was not pigmented enough for an impact and too orange-toned for my tastes.
  9. Matte Blush Duos in Rosy Flush:IMG_20161221_135934_855  This is such a chic, gorgeous blush duo.  The peach shade (right) is too light for my skintone, but would look lovely on someone with porcelain to fair skin.  I favor the terracotta shade (left), which is creamy, pigmented, and blends in for a beautiful warm flush.
  10. Illuminating Palette:IMG_20161221_135200_113 I love the sleek, compact packaging holding 4 universally flattering highlighters.  The shades instill a subtle, glowy sheen to the skin as opposed to in-your-face intensity, which I prefer at the moment.  I like to mix and match the shades depending on my mood and which look I’m going for.  What an amazing find!  This is my favorite product of the bunch.
  11. Lip Kiss Balm in Bare Kiss, XO Red, & Berry Sweet:IMG_20161221_135037_049  These lip balms come in a nice of range of reds and berries, feels moisturizing, has a pleasant mint taste, and leaves a nice tint on the lips.
  12. Lip Exfoliator in Clear, Mint Maniac, Sweet Cherry:IMG_20161221_135622_439  This is another ELF Holy Grail product I keep repurchasing.  I love the convenient lipstick bullet packaging of the lip scrub as opposed to standard jars where there is the hassle of scooping the product out with your fingers.  I enjoy the Clear, a brown sugar flavor, and Mint Maniac, a very slight minty, but mostly white sugar flavor.  Sweet Cherry was my least favorite flavor as it had a chemical taste.

Have you tried any of these ELF products?  What are your favorite ELF Products and recommendations?

Thank you so much for reading my impressions of all these ELF goodies and I hope to see you in my next blogpost! 🙂

XO,

Mary Dee
