Pinch Me Unboxing & First Impressions

Hiii dolls!  Today, I will be doing a quick First Impressions on the samples I received in my very first Pinch Me Sample Box.  Pinch Me is a free subscription where you receive samples from various brands, based on your online profile.  After testing out the samples, you are asked to honestly review the products and fill out a survey.  Shipping is free and new samples go live rather sporadically, so you just have to check in regularly as the popular samples are snapped up pretty quickly.  As I am new to the website, I am still familiarizing myself with how it works exactly.   I assume that the more you participate in providing feedback, the more likely you will be chosen for more samples, a la Influenster.  For my first box, I received 3 samples from the Household and Beauty Department.  Please read on to see my rating of each product based on my personal experience 🙂IMG_20161221_141210_881

  1. Olay Ultra Moisture Shea Butter Body Wash – 3 fl oz

20161221_102049Hydrating body wash cleanses and leaves 100% more moisturizers on skin than Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash for superior moisturization over time (olay.com).  This body wash has a lovely, fresh and fruity scent.  While it does not lather up as much as my Bath & Body Works bodywashes, this is very hydrating and doesn’t leave the skin stripped of moisture, which I appreciate in this cold, dry climate.  This size is also perfect for travel.  Overall Rating: 7/10 Stars.

  1. Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser – 3.5 oz

20161221_102105Unlike ordinary cleansers, POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser is actually 50% moisturizer.  It deep cleans and removes dirt and makeup, even stubborn waterproof mascara, while infusing your skin with vital moisture – all in one easy routine (ponds.us).  For my skincare routineI like removing my makeup first with a Kirkland Makeup Remover Wipe followed by Philosphy’s Purity Made Simple Cleanser on a Clarisonic Brush.  This was my first time testing out a jar cleanser for makeup removal.  I had high hopes, which unfortunately resulted in disappointment.  This felt cooling and luxurious upon initial application and did a decent job of dissolving facial makeup (foundation, blush, concealer).  However, it did not do very well removing my heavy duty liquid eyeliner and waterproof mascara.  Additionally, my biggest gripe with the product is that it leaves behind an oily residue that I cannot stand.  For that reason, I did not enjoy this product at all and would not recommend.  Overall Rating: 2/10 Stars.

  1. Scotch Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloth

20161221_102122The Scotch Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloth gives you everything you already love about a dish cloth, plus effective non-scratch scrubbing from the #1 selling scrubbing brand in kitchen cleaning.  With convenient 2-in-1 cleaning power, you can wipe and absorb with one side and safely remove tough messes with the powerful scrubbing dots on the other (exerpt).   This was my first time trying a dishcloth as I traditionally use cheap, disposable, rough sponges for scrubbing tough stains on my pots and pans.  I do not feel the soft scrubbers on only one side of the cloth can really deep clean stubborn stains.  This would probably be best equipped as a drying cloth.  While this isn’t a bad product, I still personally prefer a disposable sponge and would not repurchase. Overall Rating: 6/10 Stars

Final Thoughts:  While these samples are not quite the full sizes you would find in retail stores, they are pretty darn close and very generous.  I love how quick and easy it is to sign up for Pinch Me.  It is easily accessible and free to join if you’re interested in testing out different products, based on your online profile and product preferences.  Shipping takes about 2-4 weeks and the surveys at the end are quick and painless.  I enjoyed my first sample box and am excited to test out future Pinch Me boxes 🙂

Have you tried Pinch Me or any of these products?  What are your thoughts on them?

Thank you for reading, loves!  I will see you in another blogpost coming soon!
