AXIS Y Korean Skincare Review: Acne Essentials Box

AXIS-Y is a Korean skincare brand whose philosophy lies in providing high quality, climate based, prescriptive skincare without any harsh or harmful ingredients. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed their products in the past (review here), so I was stoked when they collaborated with AMT to create 16 new Beauty Boxes (view here), containing the most popular Korean Skincare products such as serums, wash-off packs, ampoules, cleansers, and more!AXIS Y Korean Skincare Review: Acne Essentials BoxAXIS Y Korean Skincare Review: Acne Essentials Box Each beauty box contains different products to cater to your personal skincare needs.AXIS Y Korean Skincare Review: Acne Essentials Box As I have been battling a string of breakouts lately, I opted for the Acne Essentials Box, which includes 3 AXIS-Y products, 1 Cosrx product, and 2 reusable cotton pads!AXIS Y Korean Skincare Review: Acne Essentials BoxAXIS Y Korean Skincare Review: Acne Essentials Box

AXIS-Y Quinoa One-Step Balanced Gel Cleanser – Retail Price $17 – Buy here (YesStyle.com)

AXIS-Y Quinoa One-Step Balanced Gel CleanserA loving cleanser that clears makeup and pores in one step while delivering a gentle and hydrating wash at your skin’s natural pH. The combination of quinoa and healthy nutrients remove environmental toxins to reveal healthy, lively skin (Buy on axis-y.com).AXIS-Y Quinoa One-Step Balanced Gel Cleanser

While this is recommended as a one step, I still stuck to my double cleansing routine. I start by first removing my stubborn waterproof makeup with my beloved Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water (buy here), followed by this gel cleanser on my favorite sonic cleansing device (buy here). I want to note this cleanser has a pH balanced level of 5.5, as to not agitate or compromise the skin barrier. It has a very light pleasant scent, lathers up nicely, and rinses clean without stripping the skin of moisture. However, I have very dry, parched skin and this is just a smidge too drying for me to use twice daily. As a personal preference, I just prefer a cream cleanser as a more gentle option. Still, I really enjoyed this cleanser, but will be passing it along to my husband who has combination/oily skin, as I just know he will love this. Buy here (YesStyle.com)

AXIS-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner – Retail Price $25 – Buy here (YesStyle.com)

AXIS-Y Daily Purifying Treatment TonerClears out bacteria and pollution stuck deep in pores that cause persistent inflammation and acne. Nutrients from our natural ingredients then soothe skin and promote healing (Buy on axis-y.com).AXIS-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner

This lightweight toner has a very nice and refreshing scent. The gentle formula doesn’t sting or irritate my skin. Again, because of the dry nature of my skin, I would not use this everyday as I prefer a more hydrating, nourishing toner on the daily. Instead, I reach for this toner when my skin is feeling clogged or congested. I apply a generous amount on a cotton pad and sweep it all over my face and neck for a gentle exfoliation and satisfying deep clean. I wake up in the morning with a noticeably brighter and clearer complexion. Buy here (YesStyle.com)

Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream – Retail Price $10.80 – Buy here (amazon.com) or Buy here (YesStyle.com)

Cosrx Centella Blemish CreamThis spot cream combines Centella and Zinc to soothe sensitive skin. The thick cream formula is generously applied over concern areas to soothe irritated skin (yesstyle.com).

Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream Korean Skincare Review

I dedicated an entire blogpost review to this cream, which you can read here. In short, I recommend this product as a post blemish treatment. The gentle formula is fantastic for calming inflamed or irritated skin, allowing the acne to heal on its own. Combined with the rest of my brightening skincare routine, I do believe this cream aids in reducing the dark spots and hyperpigmentation left behind after the acne has healed. AXIS-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen – Retail Price $23 – Buy here (YesStyle.com)

This physical sunscreen has no fragrance, as far as I can detect. The lightweight formula absorbs quickly, doesn’t feel sticky or greasy, and best of all, there is no dreaded white or gray cast, even on my medium tan skin. My makeup sits beautifully on top with no issues such as pilling. As a bonus, I love the skin friendly ingredients list which includes Mugwort, Squalane, and 2% Niacinamide. I have no complaints, it is just fabulous! This is easily my favorite product I’ve discovered in this box and I highly recommend checking it out. Buy here (YesStyle.com)
