August Monthly Favorites and Reviews

Hi, everyone!  Greetings from beautiful Denver, Colorado ? This week, the hubby and I are in the Centennial state for work.  We will be on the road pretty much every week up until our move to Arizona in mid-October.  I’m just hanging on for the ride and taking it one day at a time ? Today we will be going over August’s Monthly Favorites!  I did a little shopping last month so you’ll be seeing mostly new makeup making the list 😉

MAKEUPBH Cosmetics Professional Blush Palette ReviewBH Cosmetics Professional Blush Palette Review

BH Cosmetics Professional Blush 10 Color Blush Palette: I rediscovered this in my collection after packing it on my recent travels. This is such a great blush palette!  The powders are so pigmented and blendable.  Its sleek packaging provides a variety of shades, perfect for when you want different options/looks, without the bulk of packing along multiple blush compacts. BH Cosmetics Professional Blush Palette Swatches and ReviewELF Lip ExfoliatorE.L.F. Lip Exfoliator in Rose: This is an ELF Holy Grail product I keep repurchasing over and over again.  I love the convenient lipstick bullet packaging of the lip scrub as opposed to standard jars where there is the hassle of scooping the product out with your fingers.  The Rose scent is so therapeutic and feels like a spa experience everytime I use it ☺️Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighter in Precious PetalsWet n Wild Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals: These MegaGlo highlighters are creamy to the touch, pigmented, and give a gorgeous, almost wet glow to the skin without emphasizing texture.  Wet n Wild offers a range of shades, but Precious Petals is my personal favorite as it is a universally flattering champagne shade.  You can find a full in-dept review of these highlighting powders here. Ecotools Total Perfecting Blender Sponge ReviewEcotools Total Perfecting Blender: This Blender sponge has replaced my favorite Pur Cosmetic Sponges ever since I tried it!  It is super soft and bouncy once it’s been soaked with water, blends my foundation beautifully with the round end, and the duo tapered ends work wonderfully for baking the undereye and cheekbones.  As an added bonus, the bright green just makes me happy ?Colourpop Pressed Powder Bronzer in Afternoon DelightColourpop Pressed Powder Bronzer in Afternoon Delight: I love the sleek white compact with the adorable gold stars and mirror inside.  The formula is so creamy, pigmented, and blends like a dream.  Because the powder is so buttery soft, there is kick up when dipping your brush in the pan, which I personally don’t mind.  Afternoon Delight is a matte medium brown shade that compliments my warm undertones.Colourpop Pressed Powder Bronzer Swatches in Afternoon DelightSeraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid LinerSeraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner:  I received this eyeliner pen in a recent Ipsy Glam Bag and was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed.  The felt tip makes it easy to create a sharp, precise wing and the formula is pitch black, glides on easily, and lasts all day.  The liquid applies evenly and is not at all patchy or runny.  I LOVE this eyeliner pen ? Seraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner SwatchesMegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick in Medium TanWet n Wild MegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick in Medium Tan:  This contour stick has become my favorite way to contour my nose (when I am in the mood to do so).  The formula is very creamy and pigmented, while being very blendable.  The contour shade is on the warmer side, but still neutral enough to make a natural nose contour while the lighter shade highlights the nose without looking shiny.Colourpop Yes Please Eyeshadow PaletteColourpop Yes, Please! Eyeshadow Palette:  I dedicated an entire blogpost review to this palette which you can find here.  But in short, I am obsessed with this eyeshadow palette.  The warm shade selection is totally my jam and the formula is amazing.  12 super soft, creamy, pigmented eyeshadows with a $16 price tag?  YES, PLEASE! ?Colourpop Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette Swatches and ReviewColourpop No Filter Concealer in Medium Tan and GoldenColourpop No Filter Concealer in Medium Tan and Golden:  This concealer has quickly become one of my favorite affordable concealers ever.  The formula is creamy, blendable, and gives medium coverage with a natural, satin finish.  I will note, though, that this concealer oxidizes quite a bit.  If you are looking to brighten the undereye area, I recommend going 1-2 shades lighter than you normally would.

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Pressed Powder in Tan Beige and Dark CafeWet n Wild Photo Focus Pressed Powder in Tan Beige: These face powders are soft, creamy, and blend seamlessly.  I like applying Tan Beige underneath the eyes to set my concealer or somedays, all over the face to set my foundation.  The formula is so lightweight and never feels cakey or heavy throughout the day.Wet n Wild Photo Focus Pressed Powder Swatches in Tan Beige and Dark Cafe20170711_170638Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in #14: This is one of my favorite nude lipsticks ever.  The formula is so creamy and glides on the lips like a dream.  It doesn’t last very long, but it feels so comfortable on that I don’t mind reapplying throughout the day.  #14 is a gorgeous pinky-nude that looks flattering on both light and heavy makeup days.  This lipstick lives in my purse.Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss Swatches

Peek-a-Boo Earrings:  I’ve been rocking these peek-a-boo earrings nonstop the past month.  They are so cute and go with everything!  The silver pair is my favorite, but I also ordered the gold and rose gold.  The best part, if you don’t mind the longer shipping time, is that you can get these for $1- $2 from eBay!

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your favorite products from the month of August?

XO,

Mary Dee
