Happy Tuesday, dolls! Today, we will be going over the contents of January’s Ipsy Glam Bag! You can find my December Ipsy Glam Bag here. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that provides 5-6 sample/full-sized items for $10/month. What I like about Ipsy is that the price encompasses shipping, and it regularly includes full sized products in a cute cosmetics bag (sign up here).January‘s theme is Game Face and comes with 5 products in this cute neon mesh pouch.
- The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.04 oz) – (Buy here)
This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow (thebalm.com). I have this highlighter in the full sized compact and love everything from the formula to the adorable retro packaging. The champagne shade is flattering, while the finely milled powder imparts a beautiful glow to the cheekbones. You can achieve a soft sheen with a lighter hand or really pack it on for some extra punch.
- Seraphine Botanicals Raisin + Cream Lip Stain – Full Sized (0.09 oz) – Retail Price $24 – (Buy here)
A buttery, hydrating, long-lasting lip stain, this soft and creamy formula delivers impeccable coverage and a serious color payout (seraphinebotanicals.com). I was pleasantly surprised by how creamy and pigmented this lip stain is. Based on the shade name and color of the tube, I expected this to lean very purple or berry. Raisin + Cream is actually more of a warm terra-cotta on me, that is very wearable. It glides on like buttaah, adds hydration, and lasts very comfortably on the lips.
Farah Brushes Dual Ended Tweezers – Full Sized – Retail Price $10 – (Buy here)
These Tweezers are made of surgical stainless steel and equipped with precision slanted and pointed tips (farahbrushes.com). The dual ends are a unique concept, though I rarely ever use the pointed tip. Though both sides are ultra sharp and precise, I prefer the slanted side, which I find easier to grab stubborn eyebrow hairs.
- Dermelect Microfacial Exfoliating Masque – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.5 fl oz) – (Buy here)
A multi-brightening complex that immediately restores complexion from lackluster and dull to luminous and radiant! Innovative and powerful, Microfacial will safely reveal an instantly healthier glow and younger looking skin (dermelect.com). This mask has very fine micro granules that are similar in texture to the Philosophy Microdelivery Facial Wash or Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion. I applied a thin layer all over my face, gently rubbing in the granules for some extra exfoliation, and rinsed after letting it sit for about 12 minutes. I was so impressed by how smooth and soft my skin felt afterwards.
Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo – Travel Sized (0.9 oz) – (Buy here)
Extend your blowout and prevent damage with our transformative dry shampoo. Absorbs product buildup, oil and impurities with translucent powders while soothing scalp and restoring strength and softness (oribe.com). This dry shampoo smells as luxurious as its chic gold and black packaging. The scent could be bottled as a perfume, that’s how good it smells. This zaps the grease from my roots, gives me a boost of volume, and doesn’t leave a white cast at all. I still love my Batiste, but this is a great dry shampoo.
Overall Rating: I am very happy with January’s Glam Bag so I give this month a rating of 8/10 stars, based on my first impressions. I was impressed with the product selection and more so, the performance of each product in my bag. My favorite picks of the bunch are the Oribe Dry Shampoo and Seraphine Botanicals Lip Stain.
