Things I Want To Do In Phuket, Thailand

In one week, my husband and I will be traveling to Phuket, Thailand for the first time, ever! 🤩 To say we are excited would be a vast understatement.  Thailand has been on our bucket list for so long, and there is so much we want to do and see (and eat!).  To keep us focused and organized, I’ve compiled a list of destinations we hope to be able to visit, and that I’d love to share with you!

BIG BUDDHA

Big Buddha is a hugely popular landmark that sits at the top of a hill on the island of Phuket.  Standing tall at 45 meters tall, or 157 feet, you can’t really miss it.  My hubby likes collecting Buddha statues, so this is a sight he can’t pass up.  We are staying not too far away in Karon Beach, so there is a chance we will be able to see Big Buddha from our hotel.

BANGLA ROAD, PATONG BEACH

Bangla Road is a world famous strip full of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.  Our friends compared the area to Vegas.  We’ve been advised to visit this popular destination during the daytime, but more importantly, at night.  Apparently, the nightlife cannot be missed out.  I’m a granny so we shall see how long I can stay awake to investigate 😉

JAMES BOND ISLAND, PHANG NGA BAY

Phang Nga Bay is home to multiple islands, most of which are uninhabited, but the most popular is James Bond Island.  This tourist destination rose to international fame after being the backdrop for the James Bond film, The Man with the Golden Gun.  Why do I want to go there?  The landscape is absolutely breathtaking 😍 The picture says a thousand words.

KOH PHI PHI ISLANDS

I’ve saved the best for last: Koh Phi Phi.  This picture perfect island soared to popularity after becoming the set of the 2000 film, The Beach.  Phi Phi is about a two hour ferry ride from Phuket.  I get motion sickness at the drop of a hat so I’m not excited about the long boat ride at all, but I cannot miss the chance to see this stunning island.  The crystal clear water looks surreal!  Best believe, I’m crossing my fingers that the open ocean waves will be kind that day. 🤞

If you have been to Thailand, I would love to hear about your adventure!  All tips and recommendations are also highly welcomed!  Thank you for reading and I can’t wait to share with you the highlights after we’ve returned <3
