October Monthly Empties and Reviews

Today, we’ll be going over October’s Product Empties!  You can find my Product Empties from August here.  Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.  Lately, I’ve been trying to declutter my makeup collection, so you will see a lot of makeup being passed along :)October Monthly Empties and Reviews

MAKEUP

October Monthly Empties and ReviewsSeraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner:  I received this eyeliner pen in an Ipsy Glam Bag and really enjoyed the product, while it lasted.  The felt tip makes it easy to create a sharp, precise wing and the formula is pitch black, glides on easily, and lasts all day.  The liquid applies evenly and is not at all patchy or runny.  My only gripe is how quickly it dried out, as I’ve found very common with these felt liners.

Wet n Wild Petal Pusher Eyeshadow Palette: The shade selection is beautiful and the pigmentation isn’t bad, though not as good as the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette.  I just don’t see myself ever reaching for this palette, so I’d rather pass it along to a friend.

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara: This is one of my favorite mascaras, ever.  The perfect-sized brush helps grab those small lashes in the inner/outer corners.  The formula is jet-black and quickly builds volume and length to your lashes.  The doll-like packaging is adorable and you can’t beat the price.  I can’t recommend this enough and of course, I’ve already got backups.

Colourpop Creme Gel Liners:  I love the shade selection of these Colourpop eyeliners, but they break so easily on me.  They break when I’m using it on my eyes and sometimes it straight up falls out of the tube 😡 Although they swatch creamy on my hands initially, they drag on the waterline and make my eyes water.  I adore Colourpop, but these are terrible.October Monthly Empties and ReviewsUrban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer:  I am fairly certain this has been discontinued.  I don’t even know how old that makes this tinted moisturizer, so it’s time to let go.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder: This deluxe sample had so much product inside that it lasted me forever.  The powder has a creamy formula that blends beautifully under the eyes for a flawless finish.  Although it’s pure white, it applies translucent and works great for setting both concealer and foundation.  I would definitely invest in a full size.

ELF Tinted Moisturizer: I don’t think this is a bad tinted moisturizer, particularly for the very affordable price, but it just didn’t impress me.  The color was a little too dark and pink-toned, while the formula is lightweight, but not longlasting.  There are better tinted moisturizers and BB Creams out there so I have to pass on this one.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream:  I love Korean skincare and makeup so I wanted this to work so badly, but it was just way too light for me (a big problem with Asian makeup).  I looked like an ashy ghost 😂 For that reason, I’m passing it along to my girlfriend, who would be a much better color match.

SKINCARE

October Monthly Empties and ReviewsKate Somerville ExfoliKate:  After I cleanse my face with my Clarisonic brush, I massage this exfoliator in for about 30 minutes and leave it on for another 2 minutes to work its magic.  It smells like cinnamon and has very fine microbeads that leaves the skin feeling fresh, clean, and baby soft.  If you like a deep exfoliation, you would really enjoy this.

ELF Lip Exfoliator in Clear: This is an ELF Holy Grail product I keep repurchasing over and over again.  I love the convenient lipstick bullet packaging of the lip scrub as opposed to standard jars where there is the hassle of scooping the product out with your fingers.  I always have backups of these in my arsenal.

Garnier Skinactive Ultra Lift Miracle Sleeping Cream:  This had a lovely scent and felt very moisturizing, so it served its purpose as a hydrating night cream.  However, I didn’t see enough of an improvement to my skin condition to warrant another purchase.

Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water: This was the first micellar water I’ve ever tried and I’ve never looked back.  I apply this all over my face on a cotton round, and it takes off EVERYTHING, from foundation to waterproof mascara.  This is a holy grail item that I will continue to repurchase.

Have you tried any of these products?  How did they work for you?

Mary Dee
