Makeup Revolution Jewel Collection Review: Jelly Highlighter and Lip Topper

Makeup Revolution recently released their Jewel Collection, which includes eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, and lipglosses. The Jelly Highlighter and Lip Topper were the products I was most interested in, so those were the ones I picked up and will be reviewing for you today!

Bejewel your skin with pearlescent Makeup Revolution Jewel Collection Jelly Highlighter. The unique bouncy gel texture melts into the skin to create a wet look sheen that sets like a powder. Richly pigmented with ultra-fine shimmer, these highlighters can be used to create subtle radiance or layered to a luminous strobe effect on the eyes and face (ulta.com).These Jelly Highlighters comes in three shades: Prestigious, Dazzling, and Monumental. Dazzling is a cool silver while Monumental is a gilded gold. I opted for Prestigious as rose golds are my favorite highlighter shades at the moment. The jelly texture is so unique! I don’t have anything like it in my collection, which is why I was so curious to try it. The consistency is like putty, but quickly blends into the skin with a makeup brush, beauty sponge, or even patting it in with your fingers. There are no chunky glitters, but instead, the product melts into the skin for a gorgeous sheen. You can definitely layer a powder highlighter on top if you really want a poppin’ highlight, but I love the natural, luminous glow it gives on its own. Overall rating: 10/10 stars.

Makeup Revolution Jewel Collection Lip Toppers bring bling to your lip look. In three transformative shades, these sheer, non-sticky glosses are packed with stunning shimmer to switch up your favourite lipstick. Wear alone or layer over your favourite lipstick for a high shine finish and colour shifting duo chrome effect (ulta.com).These Lip Toppers comes in 3 shades: Luxurious, Fortune, and Exquisite. Fortune is a silver shimmer, while Fortune is a duo chrome pink with silver shimmers. I opted for Luxurious, a duo chrome pink with gold shimmer, as I hoped it would be a more affordable dupe of the popular Jouer and Dose of Colors Lip Toppers I keep seeing on Instagram. Can we talk about the packaging? I love the geometric shape and glittery rose gold design. It is so chic! As for the formula, it is lightweight, non-sticky, and unscented. It’s a lovely nude gloss with finely milled shimmers that look ultra shiny layered over a nude lipstick. I’m still not on the metallic lips bandwagon, but if you’ve been eyeing those pricey lip toppers, this is a fabulous alternate. Overall rating: 10/10 stars.
