Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Review

Hi dolls!  Today, I’m bringing you a review of the Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation!  I’ve been on a total foundation kick lately, when this new stick foundation caught my eye at Ulta.Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Review

Price: $9, 0.21 oz (ulta.com)Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Review
Packaging:  I admit, I was sucked in by the sleek, nude packaging with the rose gold details.  Tres chic 👌 It feels well made and the cap locks on with a solid click.  I love the convenience and travel friendliness of this foundation.Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Review
Formula:  This foundation is creamy, blendable, and gives light-buildable-to-medium coverage.  I have very dry skin, so I always apply a moisturizing primer beforehand, but this foundation does not do it any favors.  It gives me a luminous finish, but really emphasizes my skin texture, particularly around the larger pores on my nose.  I want my foundation to blur my imperfections, not draw more attention to them.  Because I don’t want the cream foundation to slip and slide throughout the day, I feel I have to set my entire face with powder to make it last.  This culminates in it looking very dry and cakey, even after I’ve misted on a setting spray.  The foundation isn’t very long-lasting either.  It wore off around my nose area after the 2 hour mark and definitely looked weathered by the end of the night.  If you are looking for longevity in this foundation, look elsewhere.Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Review
Shade Range:  There are currently 18 shades available on the Ulta website.  This isn’t bad, particularly when it comes to stick foundation shade ranges.  If you go directly to the Makeup Revolution website (here), they provide shade descriptions to better help you pick your color and undertones, which I appreciate.Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Swatches F12
Swatches: I picked up the shade F12, which is described as medium/ dark with neutral undertones and it matches me really well.  Kudos to Makeup Revolution for the accuracy of the shade description, which is so helpful when ordering foundations online.
Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Swatches F12Application:  I like applying this foundation best with a flat top kabuki brush, for maximizing coverage and to really buff the cream into the skin.  I feel a damp beauty sponge would absorb too much product and give minimal coverage.  I swipe one layer around the perimeter of my face and blend inward with my brush for light coverage.  I follow with a second layer around my cheeks, where I have some acne scars, and that yields medium coverage.  I feel any additional layers will make it look too heavy and cakey.  Below is a photo of the Foundation Stick on my skin, without any filter.  As you can see, the color match is excellent.  However, it accentuates my texture and looks rather obvious I have foundation on.Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation F12 Swatches
Overall Rating:  I am rather disappointed with this Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation so I’m giving it 4/10 stars.  The packaging is A+ and it’s an affordable option if you want to hop on the stick foundation trend.  The shade selection is excellent, but the emollient formula emphasizes texture and doesn’t wear well on my skin at all.  For those reasons, I can’t recommend this foundation as there are many more affordable foundations that perform way better.
Have you tried the Makeup Revolution Stick Foundations?  What are your thoughts on the formula?
