Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches

Hi, dolls!  Today, I’m bringing you a review of the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Full Coverage Conceal and Contour Concealers!  Yes, that is its entire name, right there on the tube 😂 There was a lot of hype that these were dupes for the cult fave Tarte Shape Tape Concealers so I ordered these in an Ulta Haul to find out.Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches in C10 and C12
What it is: The concealer for everyone. 18 shades ranging from fair to deep, in cool, neutral and warm undertones. Lightweight yet full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and counteract dark circles, with a matte finish that won’t settle or accentuate fine lines and pores. Long wearing intense pigment that can also be used to contour and add definition. Our large doe foot applicator allows for smooth application that won’t drag on the delicate skin under your eyes (revolutionbeautyusa.com).Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches in C10 and C12
Price: $7, 0.11 oz (ulta.com)Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches in C10 and C12
Packaging:  The rose gold packaging is super cute.  The bottle is a shorter and fatter than the Tarte Shape Tape, but has less product in it than it appears.  For example, the Tarte Shape Tape has 0.33 oz of product while this Makeup Revolution Concealer has only 0.11 oz.  At a third of the size, you would run out of product a lot quicker.  This has the same big doe foot applicator, which works great for quickly spreading on concealer.Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches in C10 and C12
Formula:  I tried Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer when it first came out years ago and I think I’m the only person who doesn’t like it 😅 I found it very drying and emphasized texture and bumps under my eyes I didn’t think I have.  I returned it shortly so I can’t provide a side by side comparison between the two now, but I don’t believe this is a dupe.  While this concealer has a thicker consistency, the coverage is light to medium, not full.  Even though I applied two full layers, I can still see dark circles and the birthmark under my right eye (the bane of my existence).  This concealer dries down quickly and to a matte finish so I make sure to blend it in quickly and to moisturize well before application.  In terms of longevity, I was impressed with its staying power after it has been set with a light powder.  It stayed on pretty well and matte by the end of the night.Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches in C10 and C12Shade Range:  There are 18 shades available on the Makeup Revolution and Ulta website, which is impressive.  I also like that they provide a description of the shade and undertones correlating to the shade number online, making it easier to narrow down your perfect match.  I picked up the shades C10, for medium skin tones with a golden undertone and C12, for medium/dark skin tones with a neutral undertone, and they both fit me well.Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches in C10 and C12Application:  My preferred method of application is with my Real Techniques Contour Brush, which builds up the coverage to medium.  I tried it with a damp beauty sponge, which gives me some extra moisture, but keeps the coverage very light. Favorite Makeup Brushes and Beauty Tools - www.thebeautyjournalsxo.com
Swatches:  Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review and Swatches in C10 and C12Overall Rating:  I am fairly satisfied with these Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealers so I’m awarding it 7/10 stars.  If you are purchasing these solely as a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape, I don’t think the formula is the same, plus it is not all that much cheaper if you break down the pricing.  Still, this is not a bad concealer by any means.  The concealer gives buildable light/medium coverage with a matte finish that lasts all day, plus I dig the chic packaging and wide shade range.  While this might not be suited for my dry skin, I still think it is worth giving a try if you’re interested.

Have you tried the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealers?  What are your thoughts on the formula?

This is a concealer I would love to try 😀 I’ve never tried the Tarte one, but I honestly don’t need this to be a dupe. I’ve heard a lot of people claiming it was full coverage, so I’m happy to see someone pont out that they’re not.

Thanks girly! Yeah, I was wondering why everyone was getting full coverage, when I could still see the blemishes lol I would love to see what you think of them when you’ve tried them 🙂

What are your thoughts? I would love to hear from you :)
