January Monthly Empties and Reviews

Hi dolls!  Today, I’m sharing with you my January Product Empties!  You can find my Product Empties from December here.  Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.January Monthly Empties and Reviews

MAKEUP

January Monthly Empties and ReviewsELF Lip Exfoliator in Clear: This is a holy grail product I keep repurchasing.  I love the convenient lipstick bullet packaging of the lip scrub as opposed to standard jars where there is the hassle of scooping the product out with your fingers.  I always use this lip exfoliant before every lipstick application so I already have backups ready to go.

Jordana Easyliner Retractable Pencil in Rock n Rose: The formula of these lipliners are so creamy, pigmented, and glides on like a dream.  The twist top is very convenient for travel because you don’t need to worry about packing a pencil sharpener.  Rock n’ Rose is my go-to nude lipliner and I have backups upon backups of these.

NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Tres Leches: The Intense line is even more pigmented than the original NYX Butter Glosses, coating the lips in opaque color with just one layer.  I love the cake batter scent and ultra shiny, long-lasting formula.  Tres Leches is a pinky nude that stands well on its own, but also layers well.

Chella Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Color: This is a nice enough eyebrow pencil with a ultra fine tip for drawing precise brow hairs.  The color match is pretty spot on and the formula is longlasting.  However, I wish they had included a spoolie on the other end for blending out the product.

Tarte Maneater Eyeliner: The formula is so creamy, pitch black, and lasts a decent amount of time in the waterline.  As a bonus, the liner is super convenient and travel friendly, as it is self sharpening.  For some reason, I keep getting these eyeliners as gift with purchases so you’ll be seeing more of this again soon 😉

Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume Mascara: I adore the original False Lash Effect Mascara in the green tube, but dare I say, I like this Sculpted Volume even more because of the curled brush.  I have very straight lashes and the curled brush really gets to the root of the lashes to give it an extra boost.  The formula is jet-black and quickly builds volume and length.  The doll-like packaging is adorable and you can’t beat the price.  I can’t recommend this enough.

L’Oreal’s Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara: I can see why this is considered a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, as it is very similar in terms of the chic pink packaging and the brush shape.  This plumps up the lashes with length and volume, minus the clumps.  The waterproof formula does not budge, you’ve been warned.

ELF Makeup Mist and Set: I’ve realized I go through a bottle of this setting spray every 2 months, but it’s so good!  It hydrates, melts powders into my skin, locks in my makeup all day, and is super affordable.  I’ve already stocked up on the larger 4.1 oz bottle ELF now carries.

SKINCARE

January Monthly Empties and ReviewsFresh Soy Face Cleanser: This deluxe sample lasted me a good month so I can imagine a full sized bottle would last forever!  For a gel cleanser, this does not strip the skin of moisture or feel drying at all.  It smells just like fresh cucumbers and rinses clean, without leaving any heavy residue.  LOVE this.

L’Oreal Micellar Cleansing Water: I adore the Garnier Skinactive Micellar Water, but decided to give this L’Oreal one a try as it was new.  I applied this all over my face on a cotton round to remove my makeup before going in with my cream cleanser.  This removes foundation makeup really well, but I noticed it struggles a bit with stubborn waterproof mascara.  For that reason, I still prefer the Garnier Micellar Water so I won’t be repurchasing this.

Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Flash Brightening Serum: This was my first time testing the popular Sunday Riley brand, and I was impressed!  This was the most moisturizing Vitamin C serum I’ve tried to date.  It is creamy, but absorbs quickly into the skin without any irritation.  I liked it enough to consider investing in a full sized.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrogel Mask:  This gel sheet mask felt so cooling and refreshing during the treatment, and my skin did feel moisturized afterwards, even if there were no other dramatic improvements.  I have another pair in my collection which I’ll use, but won’t be repurchasing another.

HAIRCARE

January Monthly Empties and ReviewsBatiste Dry Shampoo:  This is my holy grail dry shampoo.  It soaks up excess oil in between shampoos, refreshes the hair, and doesn’t leave a gray cast on dark hair if you rub it in really well.  This yummy tropical scent just so happens to have hints of coconut, reminding me of vacations.  I have backups upon backups on these.

Have you tried any of these products?  How did they work for you?

XO,

Mary Dee
