Boxycharm January 2017 Unboxing & First Impressions

Happy Tuesday, loves!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend 🙂  It’s time to dive into the first Boxycharm of 2017!  Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month.  What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price.

January’s theme is And The Charm Award Goes To… and comes with 5 products.20170119_121445

  1. Vintage Highlighter Double in Chocolate Diamond & Rose Quartz – $35 (vintagecosmetics.com)

IMG_20170123_223742_16520170124_105822Add a beautiful wash of color and subtle, sexy shimmer with this limited eidtion illuminating face highlighter set.  Wear it alone or as a beautiful highlight over pretty blush or bronzer – the refelctive pearls add radiance on contact, adding a delicate glow and diamond- like finish to the skin (excerpt).  These highlighter powders are GORGEOUS.  They are so creamy to the touch, beautifully pigmented, and highly reflective on the skin.  Rose Quartz is a rose gold while Chocolate Diamond is a taupe/champagne that would lovely as a blush/bronzer topper.  I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of these powders.  LOVE this duo.

  1. So Susan Fan Brush – $18.95 (sosusan.com)

20170119_121814A versatile brush made from best quality synthetic nylon & taklon hairs only (excerpt).  This was my first introduction to the So Susan brand.  I like the ultra chic packaging and how soft the bristles are.  This brush worked wonderfully applying the Vintage Highlighter to my cheekbones, nose, and brow bone.

  1. Gorge Amazing Konjac Sponge – $18 (gorgehair.com)

20170119_121940This sponge is made from 100% preservative-free konjac root.  This calming, exfoliating sponge is naturally akaline and balances the acidity of the skin’s impurities.  This naturally deep-cleansing, pH balanced sponge can be used throughout the face, neck, and the delicate eye area since it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin (excerpt).  This is probably the most unique skincare product I have received from Boxycharm to date.  I am completely addicted to my Clarisonic brush so it’s highly unlikely I will take a chance and switch to this sponge for my cleansing routine.  I will be passing this along to the hubs to test out himself and then update you 😉

  1. Pur Mineral Glow Bronzer – $25 (purcosmetics.com)

IMG_20170123_223845_99120170124_105719Mineral Glow’s micronized mineral powder has rich, golden undertones to add a sunkissed contour to your complexion.  A staple for Pur afficionados, use it as a quick fix bronzer for an all year healthy glow (excerpt).  I used a large fan brush to apply this bronzer as a light contour under my cheekbones and forehead, and loved the result.  The powder is smooth, blendable, and pigmented enough to make an impact on my golden-tanned skin.  It has a subtle gold shimmer that gives a gorgeous all over glow.  This bronzer gets two thumbs up!

  1. English Laundry Pour Femme Deluxe Roller Ball– $25 (englishlaundryfragrance.com)

20170119_121557This classic scent can be used on the go to keep you smelling fresh and sophisicated (excerpt).  I really like the beautiful and convenient packaging of this rollerball perfume.  It has a sweet, fruity scent that reminds me of the Britney Fantasy perfume if you’re familiar with that fragrance.  This smells nice, but I am very picky about my perfumes and this just isn’t my cup of tea.  As that is a totally a matter of personal preference,  this would be better suited for someone else.

Overall Rating:  I would give this month’s Boxycharm a rating of 10/10.  January’s Boxycharm has a combined value of $121.95, which far exceeds the $21 price tag, making it a great value.  I thoroughly enjoyed the diverse selection of products ranging from skincare, makeup, beauty tools, to fragrance.  My favorite products of the bunch are the Vintage Highligher and Pur Mineral Glow Bronzer 😉

Did you enjoy your Boxycharm?  Which products are you most excited to test out?

Mary Dee
