BH Cosmetics x Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette Review

Happy Monday, loves!  Today, we are kickstarting the week with a review of the BH Cosmetics x Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition 21 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette!  I own the original Carli Bybel Palette and enjoyed it so much that when they released the Deluxe Edition at Ulta, I had to give it a go as well ;)

What it is: The BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition 21 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette exudes the YouTube beauty maven’s signature glam-girl style. This palette features 11 original shades plus 10 chic new shadows and highlighters in buttery, blendable formulas with staying power (ulta.com).Price: $22.50, 1.06 oz (ulta.com)Packaging: The square cardboard packaging is lightweight, but sturdy and travel friendly.  Bonus points for also including a nice sized mirror.  There is a pretty pearl pin-cushion design on the outside with metallic rose gold writing, but I particularly love the white marble design on the inside.  Tres chic ?Formula: The formula of these shadows are definitely on the softer side, so there was quite a bit of kick up and fallout when dipping your brush into the shadows.  I personally don’t mind as I typically apply my eyeshadow before my face makeup anyways.  Overall, I found that they are pigmented, but on the powdery side.  The highlighters, in my opinion, are the stars of the show.  They are sooo creamy and gorgeously pigmented.  They give almost a wet, metallic look to the skin and can do double duty as shimmery eyeshadows.Color:  These eyeshadows come in an assortment of flattering matte and shimmery shades.  I like that Carli designed three rows of complimentary eyeshadow colors so that you can create a complete makeup look.  All the matte finish shadows are my personal favorites 😉 As for the highlighters, I appreciate that they added shades that would flatter a wide range of skin tones, from fair to deep ?Swatches of the Highlighters:  These are sooo beautiful ? Just look at that blinding sheen!

Swatches of the Eyeshadows in the First Row:  The first row includes two matte transition shades and three warm shimmery shades.  Two of the shimmery shadows have a lovely duo chrome effect.

Swatches of the Eyeshadows in the Second Row:  This row includes three matte and two shimmery shades.  These make for a cool-toned mauvey-plum eye look.

Swatches of the Eyeshadows in the Third Row:  The third row consists of three matte and two shimmery shades that make for a neutral-toned brown smokey eye.

Overall Rating:  I was very impressed with my Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette so I award it a rating of 9/10 stars!  $22.50 is an unbeatable price for a gorgeous assortment of 15 eyeshadows and 6 highlighters.  The mix of flattering matte and shimmery shadows make it so easy to put together quick day and nightime looks while the buttery highlighters are top notch.  If you did not get a chance to buy the original palette, I wholly recommend picking up this Deluxe Edition because it is a fantastic product.  If you already own the first palette, I don’t feel you are missing out too much if you skip on this one, as this might not be different enough from the original to garner a purchase.  However, as a makeup collector, I am very happy with my purchase and stand by my opinion that you can’t beat the quality, particularly of the highlighters, for the price.  If you decide to purchase this, you won’t be disappointed ?
