Maybelline 24K Nudes VoxBox Review

Hiii dolls!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today, I will be reviewing the makeup goodies that I received in my Maybelline 24K VoxBox from Influenster!  This VoxBox included an eyeshadow palette, mascara, and an eyeliner pencil.  I’ve had a full month to put these products to the test and formulate my opinion.  Please read on to see my rating of each product based on my personal experience 🙂IMG_20170329_172339_14020170329_113354

 1.  The 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette – Retail Price $11.9920170329_111522This Maybelline 12 shade 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette features dazzling colors infused with metallic gold pigments. From sparkling gold and shimmering nude to gilded smoke and aubergine spark, this makeup palette is perfect for creating versatile eye looks (ulta.com).  I appreciate the compact, travel-friendly packaging and the shade selection, which can work for everyday neutral eyelooks or a heavier smoky eye.  However, I was rather disappointed in the formula which was powdery, had kick up, and applied patchy.  More importantly, most shades severely lacked pigmentation.  The only shades I felt were passable was the shimmery gold and bronze shades.  While this is an affordable palette at $12, there are many other drugstore eyeshadow options available that have higher quality, so this is still not worth it.  I would take the Wet n Wild or NYX Eyeshadow Palettes over this anyday.  Overall Rating: 5/10 Stars.20170329_11182720170329_112706PicsArt_03-29-05.34.05

2.  The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara – Retail Price $9.4920170329_113306Maybelline’s The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara has a push-up wing brush that sweeps lashes to the side, while lifting and plumping from the roots (ulta.com).  I love the slim brush which is great for reaching those smaller lashes in the inner/outer corners and the bottom lashline.  The non-flaking formula is on the wetter side, pitch black, and buildable for both length and volume.  If you have non-problematic lashes, the curved brush would be especially great for curling and pushing your lashes to crazy heights.  Overall Rating: 9/10 Stars.

3.  Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Polished Amethyst – Retail Price $7.99

20170329_113106All-day intensity goes on ultra smooth… High intensity pigments and translucent gel base for a super easy glide… Smudge-resistant, waterproof and non-stop drama (ulta.com).  Polished Amethyst is a lovely metallic purple that adds a beautiful pop of color to the lower lashline.  The formula is pigmented, blendable and very creamy, gliding easily on the lid and waterline.  This does set, but it is not completely transfer-proof in my waterline.  I prefer using this as an eyeshadow base as it lasts longer on the lid than waterline.  Overall Rating: 7/10 Stars.

Final Thoughts:  Maybelline is one of my favorite brands at the drugstore.  I absolutely adore their Fit Me! Foundations, Concealers, and Color Sensational Lipstick lines.  While I am grateful for the opportunity to review these products,  I was rather disappointed in the quality of the eyeshadow palette considering how I love the formula of their Eyestudio Color Tattoo Cream Shadows.  The eyeliner was very creamy and the purple shade was beautiful, but it wasn’t very longlasting on me.  The only product I really enjoyed and would recommend is the Push Up Angel Mascara.  I love the smaller brush and buildable formula.

Have you tried any of these Maybelline products?  What are your thoughts on their formula?

Mary Dee
