Boxycharm September 2016 Unboxing

Hey girl heeey!  It’s time to dive into September’s Boxycharm!  Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month.  What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price.

September’s theme is Camp Glam and comes with 5 products.

  1. Project Beauty Hairgurt Smoothing Yogurt Hair Masque – $11 (myprojectbeauty.com)

img_20161006_180242

A smoothing yogurt hair masque made with yogurt protein, prebiotics, quinoa, a botanical oil blend and bio-keratin (excerpt).  This masque smells INCREDIBLE, like watermelon Jolly Ranchers.  Makes my mouth water every time I use it.  However, this feels very lightweight for a masque.  I have relatively dry hair and prefer a more a deep conditioning treatment.

  1. butterLONDON Trend Nail Lacquer in Yummy Mummy – $15 (butterlondon.com)

An 8-free lacquer in a heavily pigmented colour and finish.  This vitamin-enriched formula promotes nail strength and provides beautifully consistent coverage (excerpt).  Yummy Mummy is a beautiful greige with a slight iridescent shimmer.  I don’t have anything like this in my nail polish collection so I look forward to putting this to the test!

  1. PUR Cosmetics Lip Lure in Belle – $22 (purcosmetics.com)

Let your lips speak for you with beautifully bold color and brilliant shine!  This richly pigmented lip lacquer saturates your lips in true color and pout-perfecting hydration.  Using a unique, flocked shower-head applicator, this creamy, full-coverage liquid formula creates a show stopping look in just one stroke! (excerpt).  Wow!  I was so impressed with the quality of this lip lacquer. The “showerhead” applicator conforms nicely to the lips, applying an even layer of super pigmented color.  The formula stays creamy with a satin sheen and feels like a melted lipstick as opposed to an ultra matte liquid lipstick.

On the Go eyeshadow palette is a compilation of shades that updates the bare beauty look with a cosmopolitan attitude.  The On the Go Eyeshadow Palette includes 9 shades that are perfect for creating day or night looks (exerpt).  This is a good quality eyeshadow palette with a nice selection of very wearable, neutral shades.  They feel creamy and blend nicely with each other for an everyday look.  In my opinion, the shimmer shades perform better than the matte ones.  I like the palette, but I don’t love it so I think the $49.95 pricetag is a bit steep.

The perfect mechanical eyeliner with a smooth formula for easy application (exerpt).   I am always on the hunt for a creamy eyeliner pencil that will last all day on my waterline.  Stay tuned for an update to see how this one stacks up!

Overall Rating:  I would give this month’s Boxycharm a rating of 7/10.  September’s Boxycharm has a combined value of $110.95, which far exceeds the $21 price tag, making it a great value.  My favorite products of the bunch are the Pur Lip Lure and the Studio Makeup On the Go Eyeshadow Palette 😉

Did you enjoy your Boxycharm?  Which products are you most excited to test out?

XO,

Mary Dee
