Boxycharm November 2019 Unboxing and Review

Happy Friday, everyone!  Today, I’m sharing with you my review of November’s Boxycharm!  You can find my review on September’s Boxycharm Boxyluxe here.  Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month.  What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price (sign up here).Boxycharm November 2019 Unboxing and ReviewNovember’s theme is Stellar and comes with 5 products, plus a Pretty Vulgar Concealer Sampler Pack to shade match for complexion products in future Boxycharms.Boxycharm November 2019 Unboxing and Review

  1. Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder Eyeshadow Palette – $35 (Buy here)

Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder Eyeshadow PaletteDominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder Eyeshadow PaletteCelestial Thunder is an explosion of vivid pigments, shadows and glittery foils with 8 uniquely formulated shades for a creative colorful eye look or a simple pop of electric color. These vibrantly made shades tell a cosmic story and bring the universe to life (dominiquecosmetics.com).  This appears to be a smaller version of the Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Storm Palette, which has 12 eyeshadows instead of 8.  The matte shades are buttery, pigmented, and my favorite of the bunch.  The shimmers act more like glitter toppers, so they lack the pigmentation I crave.  The shade selection, while bright and eye-catching, does not seem very cohesive, at least to me.  I don’t think this palette is bad in terms of performance, but realistically, I don’t see myself ever reaching for this.Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder Eyeshadow Palette

  1. Kypris Antioxidant Dew Quench and Glow Serum – $90 (Buy here)

Kypris Antioxidant Dew Quench and Glow SerumAntioxidant Dew lavishes skin with quenching encapsulated antioxidants, nurturing amino acids, and an array of soothing botanicals. Use as a lightweight hydrator or as a layering piece in your skin care wardrobe (kyprisbeauty.com).  $90?!  For that hefty price tag, I expect major results! This lightweight serum milk does not feel greasy on the skin, whatsoever.  Instead, it just adds an additional layer of hydration between my essence and moisturizer.  I’ve incorporated this into both my nighttime and daytime routine and found it doesn’t cause the makeup applied on top to slide around or break apart.  This certainly came in handy as we head into the drier winter months ahead.Kypris Antioxidant Dew Quench and Glow Serum

  1. Dose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in Charm – $18 (Buy Here)

Dose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in CharmOur Liquid Matte Lipstick has a velvety high-fashion matte finish which envelops lips in rich, long wearing color. It applies as a creamy liquid but after a few minutes it dries to an ultra comfortable matte finish (doseofcolors.com).  I thoroughly enjoy Dose of Colors Liquid Lipsticks.  The feathery formula is lightweight, while being pigmented, long-lasting, and non drying.  Charmed is a beautiful brick red that looks particularly stunning for the holidays.Dose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in CharmDose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in CharmDose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick in Charm

  1. Lilly Lashes in CEO – $25 (Buy Here)

Lilly Lashes in CEOShow up like the boss babe you are! CEO is an ultra glam, densely wispy lash designed in an exclusive collaboration for Boxycharm. This fluttery winged lash will add a flirty finish to every look and take you from owning that meeting, to celebrating with drinks after (lillylashes.com).  I’ve found Lilly Lashes to be generally bold and dramatic, so they overwhelm my smaller eyes in person.  However, they photograph beautifully and really compliment my eye makeup in close up shots.  I’m happy to add this wispy, faux minx style to the collection.

  1. Boxycharm 2 Piece Brush Set – 35 (Buy Here)

Boxycharm 2 Piece Brush SetCreate your favorite looks in total luxury with our first-ever BoxyCharm branded brush set! The large multipurpose powder brush is perfect for liquids, creams, powders or mineral products and the foundation brush has an oval base to help with precise foundation placement and seamless blending (boxycharm.com).  I’ve been using solely beauty sponges for foundation application over the past year, but these brushes have converted me back.  They are that good!  The tightly packed bristles are ultra soft and work amazingly well for seamless foundation application, while maintaining full coverage.  I love these type of Artiste-style brushes particularly for blending in cream products.  The larger brush is excellent for applying foundation/ BB Creams all over quickly, while the smaller brush is for more precise application of cream contour or blush.

Overall Rating: I’m fairly happy with November’s Boxycharm so I’m giving it a rating of 9/10 stars.  November’s box has a combined value of $203, which is a lot higher than previous boxes, if memory serves me right.  I enjoyed the majority of the products in the box, which is a win in my book.  My favorite picks of the batch are Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick and Boxycharm Brushes.

Did you enjoy your Boxycharm?  Which products are you most excited to test out?

XO,

Mary Dee
