Allure Beauty Box January 2020 Unboxing and Review

Happy Monday, y’all!  Today, I’m sharing with you my review of January’s Allure Beauty Box!  The Allure Beauty Box is a subscription that provides 5 – 6 full/ deluxe-sized beauty products, with a $70+ value, for $15 a month (shipping included). Allure Beauty Box January 2020 Unboxing and ReviewWhat intrigued me most about this subscription were the luxury brands offered and that they guarantee at least 2 full sized items in each box.  I’ve been curious about the Allure Beauty Box for quite some time, so when I recently canceled my Ipsy and Sephora Play subscriptions, I figured now would be a good time to finally give them a try (sign up here).Allure Beauty Box January 2020 Unboxing and ReviewJanuary’s Allure Box comes with 6 products: 2 of which are full sized and 4 are deluxe sized.  I am impressed with the chic packaging and high quality box, which I like to reuse for storage. Allure Beauty Box January 2020 Unboxing and ReviewThey also include an insert with the product descriptions and discount promo codes, should you decide to repurchase a product you love.Allure Beauty Box January 2020 Unboxing and Review

  1. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara – Full Sized – $23 (Buy here)

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes MascaraTarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara has been a cult classic for over a decade, this best-selling vegan mascara lengthens, curls, volumizes & conditions, acting like a push-up bra for your lashes. It won’t clump, flake, or trash your lashes (tartecosmetics.com).  This happens to be one of my favorite mascaras, so I am excited to have received a full size.  This mascara has the Goldilocks of brushes, not too big and not too small.  It is just right for evenly distributing length and volume to your lashes.  It also has a drier formula for a non-waterproof formula so it holds a curl nicely.  I dig the fun, bright yellow packaging. 1. Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment – $75 for 1.7 oz (Buy here)

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating TreatmentClinically formulated to visibly transform texture and pores in two minutes, Kate’s signature Super Facial exfoliates dull, dry surface skin cells to reveal smoother, radiant, pore perfected skin in just two minutes! By clearing away dead skin cells, this Holy Grail product preps skin to better absorb the rest of your regimen, making every product and ingredient that follows more effective (katesomerville.com).  After I’ve cleansed my face with a cream cleanser, I massage this exfoliator in for about 30 seconds and leave it on for another 2 minutes to work its magic.  It smells like cinnamon and has very fine microbeads that leaves the skin feeling fresh, clean, and baby soft.  If you like a deep exfoliation and don’t mind the slight tingle, you would really enjoy this.

  1. Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Water Cream – $39 for 2 oz (Buy Here)
  1. Akar Skin Pure Lip Restoration – Full Sized – $30 (Buy Here)

Akar Skin Pure Lip RestorationA lightweight creamy treatment guaranteed to provide instant hydration for dry and chapped lips. Antioxidants help to fight sun-induced oxidative stress and lessen the appearance of lines. Smells of freshly brewed rose orange tea, our lip restoration is made of pure plant-based ingredients and free of mineral oil (akarskin.com).  The scent of this lip balm is so faint I could barely detect any fragrance.  It does provide hydration for chapped lips, though it’s a little on the waxy side.  I love the red tin packaging, which is very chic and travel friendly.  However, I am not sure this is life changing enough to warrant the $30 price tag.Akar Skin Pure Lip Restoration

  1. Vitabrid C12 Dual Drop Serum – $62 for 1.02 fl oz (Buy Here)

Vitabrid C12 Dual Drop SerumBrighter skin, reduced fine lines and antioxidant protection, all in one drop. This quick-absorbing and deeply hydrating serum is packed with benefits from Vitabrid CG, a stabilized form of vitamin C, and powerful peptides for skin that looks and feels brighter, firmer, and deeply hydrated (vitabrid.com).  I personally love the thicker oil consistency as it feels extra moisturizing on my skin.  It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave behind any tackiness or greasiness.  Only about four drops of this pleasantly scented serum are needed to cover my entire face.  I’ve been incorporating this daily into my morning skincare routine and I am just about to finish this vial.Vitabrid C12 Dual Drop Serum

    6.  Naturelab Perfect Shine Oil Mist – $16 for 4 oz (Buy Here)

Naturelab Perfect Shine Oil MistEnhance color and elevate shine with a Platinum Fiber-infused light-reflecting hair oil mist. Antioxidant-rich Stem Cells from Grape penetrate the scalp to guard against oxidative damage while a micro-mist of plant oils and butters provide protective moisture and an irresistible luster (naturelab.com).  A hair shine oil?  Yes, please!  Rather than spritzing this directly onto my hair, I like spraying a small amount into the palms of my hand and then running it through the ends of my hair after a blow dry.  I love that it softens my strands, smooths flyaways, and adds a beautiful sheen to the hair.Allure Beauty Box January 2020 Unboxing and ReviewOverall Rating: I’m super happy with January’s Allure Beauty Box, so I’m giving it a rating of 10/10 stars.  Excluding the four deluxe samples, the two full sized products alone have a combined value of $53, which makes it well worth the $15 price.  I actually enjoyed the majority of the products in the box being skincare orientated.  My favorite picks of the batch are Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara and Naturelab Shine Oil Mist.

Did you enjoy your Allure Beauty box?  Which products are you most excited to test out?

XO,

Mary Dee
