Howdy, y’all!  Today, we are going through my Sephora Play! sample box for November 2017.  You can find my review of last month’s box here.  Play! is Sephora’s subscription service that provides 5 beauty samples plus 1 fragrance sample for $10/month (plus local taxes).

November’s theme is Survival of the Chillest and the Play! 1. Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum – Deluxe Sized (0.33 fl oz)

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching SerumA skin saving formula infused with grape water to boost hydration and soothe even the most sensitive skin (insert).  This serum has a refreshing, spa-like scent.  I haven’t noticed a difference in my skin since adding it to my nightly routine, but it feels lightweight and provides additional moisture overall.

  1. Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Mascara – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.17 oz)

Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major MascaraA jet black mascara that creates long, beautiful lashes with a unique curve brush that builds lashes starting at the hard-to-reach center lash line (insert).  This mascara has a medium sized brush that grabs all the lashes and quickly thickens them.  The formula is pitch black and volumizing, but on the wet side so it weighs down my lashes.  This is a nice mascara, but not for me as I prefer a drier formula.

  1. Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel in Perfect Nude – Deluxe Sized (0.1 oz)

Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel in Perfect NudeA super light lip gel in a soft pink shade that brings out the best of your natural lip color (insert).  Perfect Nude is a flattering shade that looks natural on its own or layered on top of another lipstick.  The gloss has a light cake batter scent and thicker consistency, but doesn’t feel sticky on the lips.  It’s not a bad lip gloss, but nothing standout to me.

  1. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores – Deluxe Sized (1 fl oz)

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear PoresA gentle yet highly effective charcoal mask that draws out impurities for clearer pores (insert).  I applied a thin layer of this mask all over my face and washed it off after about 20 minutes.  It tingled for the first couple minutes of application before drying down.  It left my skin feeling smoother and brighter.  If you’re on the drier side, I recommend moisturizing right after as the charcoal zaps all oil and leaves your skin feeling very tight.

  1. Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Treatment – Deluxe Sized (0.34 fl oz)

Moroccanoil Moroccanoil TreatmentAn argan oil hair treatment that conditions, protects, and adds shine to your strands (insert).  I love applying a dime sized amount of this oil to the ends of my damp hair to control frizz and make my hair more managable as it air dries. This smells good and doesn’t weigh my hair down.

  1. Burberry My Burberry Blush Eau de Parfum – Sample Sized (0.06 fl oz)

Burberry My Burberry Blush Eau de ParfumA fruity and beautifully feminine floral fragrance that captures the vibe of strolling through a London garden (insert).  This fragrance is very daytime and workplace appropriate.  It’s a nice floral scent, but not my cup of tea.

Overall Rating:  I was not very impressed by November’s Sephora Play! Bag so I award it a rating of 6/10 stars based on my first impressions.  I would have preferred another makeup item instead of two skincare products.  The only products I was really happy with was the Origins Charcoal Mask and Moroccanoil Treatment.

What are your thoughts on the Sephora Play! Bag?  Which products, if any, were you most excited to test out?
