Play! by Sephora March 2017 Unboxing & First Impressions

Happy Monday, loves!  Today, I will be sharing with you the contents of my Sephora Play! sample box for March 2017.  Play! is Sephora’s subscription service that provides 5 beauty samples plus 1 fragrance sample for $10/month (plus local taxes).

March’s theme is The Gleam Team and the Play! Bag comes with 6 products in a simple, white pouch.As usual, it includes an insert with product descriptions/ directions and a Play! Pass, redeemable in Sephora stores for 50 extra Beauty Insider points with any purchase.

1. Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.24 oz)

Two-in-one moisturizer and luminizer hydrates, blurs, and enhances any complexion with a lit-from-within finish (insert).  I didn’t realize Glamglow made moisturizers in addition to their hugely popular mud masks.  This cream provides adequate moisture and contains a fine shimmer, adding a pretty glow under your BB Cream or foundation.  The formula reminds me a lot of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter.

2. Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast  – Deluxe Sized (3 oz)

Weightless spray delivers long-lasting volume and texture for thicker, fuller-looking hair that is silky soft (insert).  This product works as great as both a voluminizer and as a dry shampoo.  It has a strong, pleasant scent that refreshes unwashed hair and adds extra oomph to the roots.  I dig it.

3. Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter – Deluxe Sized (0.08 oz)

Bestselling highlighter defines facial features with a luminous, soft-focus sheen and an easy-to-apply cream-to-powder formula (insert).  The packaging is so darn cute.  This highlighter formula is smooth, creamy, and easily blendable making for a natural glow on the high points of the face.

4. Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm – Deluxe Sample Sized (0.1 oz)

Game changing makeup and skincare hybrid primes and finishes with a whipped formula for a luminous, ethereal effect (insert).  This is another illuminating moisturizer, but the shimmer is much more subtle than the Glamglow one.  This balm might be too thick for those with oilier skin types, but it would provide enough hydration for those with dry skin.

5. Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink – Deluxe Sample Sized

Super creamy, waterproof eyeshadow stick glides on and blends easily without tugging for crease- and flake-free wear (insert).  This is a beautiful shadow pencil in a flattering pinky-champagne shade. It is creamy and blends out easily.  I like using these type of eyeshadow sticks to brighten up the inner corners of the eyes.

6. Chloe Fleur de Parfum – Sample Sized (0.05 fl oz) 

An infusion of rose petals and fresh notes of verana softened by freesia create a lighthearted yet luxurious fragrance (insert).  Chloe fragrances smell sooo good.  They are such beautiful florals that are appropriate for the workplace/daytime, but also heady enough for nighttime.  I adore this scent!

Overall Rating:  I was fairly satisfied with March’s Sephora Play! Bag so I award it a rating of 8/10 stars based on my first impressions.  I appreciate that they were going for a “glowy” theme this month, but I wish they had included a lippie or eye product instead of two illuminating moisturizers.  My favorite picks of the batch are the Living Proof Dry Volume Spray and Benefit Watt’s Up! Highlighter.
