May Monthly Empties and Reviews

Goodness gracious, where did the month of May go?  Can you believe it’s already June?! 🙂  Today we will be going over the Product Empties from last month.  I did a lot of traveling in May, using up samples and disposing of them on my trips, so we are lighter on the empties than usual.  Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara:  I picked this up hoping it would help my lashes grow long and lush ? Well, no such luck on my sparse lashes, but one can dream!  This has a nice sized brush that evenly coats the lashes, adds definition, and doesn’t get clumpy even with multiple coats.  Overall, it’s a nice mascara for those blessed with long and/or thick lashes, but I would not repurchase.

Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence:  At first, I didn’t think this extra step made a huge difference in my skincare routine, but now I’m totally addicted.  I don’t see it dramatically whitening my acne scars (the search continues!), but I see a huge difference in evening the overall texture. When I wake up in the morning, I can see the skin is more smooth, plump, and radiant after overnight usage. I don’t ever want to be without this product and highly recommend giving it a try! ?

BODYCARE20170605_182845

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer:  I love how easy and convenient it is to spray this all over after a shower, quickly rub it in, and then be on your way.  This has a fresh, clean scent and feels so lightweight on.  I would recommend this for the summer months, but I would not repurchase during the colder months, when I need a heavy duty moisturizer.

Anderson Lilley Manhattan Beach Hand Cream:  I received this in a previous Boxycharm if memory serves me right.  It has a woodsy beach scent rather than a sweet, coconut fragrance.  I prefer the latter 😉  I don’t feel it provided enough moisturization either so I would not repurchase.

The Body Shop Passion Fruit Body Butter:  Like every scent I’ve tried from The Body Shop, this Passion Fruit Body Butter smells ahh-mazing.  It is so sweet, fruity, and delicious I have to refrain from eating it ?  Both the hubs and I love this fragrance so much, I would definitely repurchase.

NAILCARE20170605_182927

Seche Vite Base Coat: It’s rare for me to finish an entire bottle of nail polish (as I’m usually already on to buying another 😉 ), but I used the heck out of this base coat.  It created a smooth canvas before polish application, and my nails have never stained from even the darkest nail colors.  I love this and would happily repurchase.

Philosophy Fresh Cream Eau de Toilette:  Finishing an entire bottle of fragrance is another rare occasion for me.  I absolutely adore this warm, vanilla scent.  It smells sweet, but never sickenly so.  It brings to mind images of warm, delicious, sugar cookies, but Fresh Cream really describes it best.  I highly recommend this beautiful scent and girl, I already got a replacement bottle in my arsenal 😉

HAIRCARE20170605_182912

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo: I used up this sample when I ran out of my holy grail Batiste Dry Shampoo.  It does a decent job of soaking up excess oil in between shampoos, refreshing the hair, and doesn’t leave a gray cast on dark hair if you rub it in really well, but I am not a fan of the scent.  I can’t justify its higher price point either so I’ll be sticking with beloved Batiste.

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your May Empties?

Mary Dee
