LA Girl Strobe Lite Strobing Powder Review

Happy Monday, dolls!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  The hubs and I are headed to Reno for the week for a last minute getaway, but I wanted to get this blogpost up while we are away 🙂  Today, we are reviewing the L.A. Girl Strobe Lite Strobing Powders I picked up from Ulta.  LA Girl makes one of my favorite affordable concealers (HD Pro Conceal), so when I saw they came out with these highlighters, I was excited to put them to the test.

20170420_131931What it is:  L.A. Girl’s Strobe Lite Strobing Powder highlights your facial features by creating more depth and dimension where light usually hits. The soft and silky powder adds a fresh glow to highlight cheeks, brighten eyes, sculpt nose, and enhance pout. Strobe Lite can be applied alone or over makeup for a perfect glowing complexion. Powder is paraben and fragrance free (ulta.com).

Price: $7.99, 0.19 oz (ulta.com)

Packaging:  I like the compact and sturdy packaging, which will hold up during travel.  The gold trim is very chic as well.20170420_132254Formula:  These strobing powders feel so smooth and creamy to the touch.  The formula is finely milled, intensely pigmented, but blendable and doesn’t emphasize the texture of my skin.  I detect hints of glitter in the pan, but it doesn’t show up when applied on the skin at all.  A light wash of these powders on a fan brush gives a gorgeous glow to the cheekbones and highpoints of the face.  You can definitely build this up for a highly reflective sheen, if so desired.IMG_20170512_155554_489Swatches:  I picked up two shades: 50 Watt and 80 Watt.  These shades are very similar to one another with minute differences.  80 Watt is a classic, pale champagne shade while 50 Watt is slightly darker, and leans more golden.  I’ve used both shades, mixed together and alone, and found them very flattering with my golden-tanned skintone.  Ulta.com currently offers only 3 shades, but the LA Girl website offers the full range of 12 shades, from icy white to deep copper.  I would love for Ulta to expand their range and carry all the shades.  Wink wink 😉20170420_132216_20170512161140214IMG_20170512_155825_314Overall Rating:  I was very impressed with the quality and performance of these LA Girl Strobing Powders so I award them 10/10 stars.  I love the creamy formula, shimmery effect, and affordable price point.  These powders are pigmented enough to give you an intense highlight if so desired, or a subtle all-over-glow with a lighter hand.  These shades are so flattering on a wide range of skintones and I would love to pick up even more shades from the line.  I love these strobing powders and highly recommend adding them to your highlighter collection! ?
