Favorite Beauty Products of 2017: Eye Makeup Edition

Hiii, dolls and welcome to the third installment of my Favorite Beauty Products of 2017 series!  You can find the blogposts on my Favorite Makeup Brushes here and Favorite Face Makeup here.  These Favorites lists include pretty much any products I couldn’t put down in 2017 and that I would wholly recommend.  Today, I will be going through my favorite eye products, ranging from eyeshadow palettes, to mascaras, and eyeliners!Favorite Beauty Products of 2017: Eye Makeup Edition

EYESHADOW PRIMER

Colourpop No Filter ConcealerConcealer + Powder: My favorite way to prime the eyes is to set my concealer with any powder I have on hand.  Most of the time, it’s the Colourpop No Filter Concealer followed by the RCMA No Color Powder.  I’ve tried primers ranging from Urban Decay to Lorac, and found the concealer/ powder combo works just as well as a base for eyeshadow.

EYESHADOW SINGLES

Colourpop Super Shock ShadowsColourpop Super Shock Shadows: Ah yes, the OG Colourpop product.  These shadow pots have a whipped, mousse-like texture that is ultra creamy and pigmented.  The matte shades blend very well, but their metallic and glitter shades are standout.  Additionally, the shade selection is insane as they are continously phasing out old shades and releasing new ones.L'Oreal Infallible Eye ShadowsL’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadows: These drugstore eyeshadows feel soooo luxurious.  They feel like buuttaah to the touch and are beautifully pigmented.  All the shades I’ve tried have been intensely shimmery and give a gorgeous metallic sheen to the eyes.  My favorite shades are Bottomless Java and Golden Emerald.Makeup Geek EyeshadowsMakeup Geek Eyeshadows: I have Z Palettes filled with my favorite MUG single eyeshadows.  The formula is incredibly creamy, pigmented, and blendable.  I’ve always been impressed with the finished eye look after using these shadows.  My favorite shades are Cocoa Bear, Americano, and Bitten.

EYESHADOW PALETTE

Colourpop Eyeshadow PalettesColourpop Eyeshadow Palettes: The Colourpop Eyeshadow Palettes were hands down the breakthrough palettes for me in 2017.  They have amazing quality shadows at super affordable prices.  What more could you want?!  My favorites in ranking order was the Yes, Please! (review here), I Think I Love You (review here), and Fem Rosa She Palette (review here).  You can’t go wrong if you pick up these palettes, trust me 😉Too Faced Sweet Peach PaletteToo Faced Sweet Peach Palette: I used this palette religiously during the first half of the year.  I love everything about the adorable packaging, although I am not a fan of the artificial peach scent.  The range of peaches, warm browns, and purples just call out to me.  I enjoy the mix of matte and shimmer shades, perfect for creating a complete eye look.Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance PaletteAnastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette: For an in-depth review and swatches, please check out my blogpost here.  There’s a reason this palette has a cult following.  The eyeshadows are so buttery, pigmented, and blend beautifully.  The mix of warm browns and vibrant berries is totally my jam and make gorgeous color combinations.Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by MarioAnastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario: For an in-depth review and swatches, please check out my blogpost here.  The Mario Master Palette has a gorgeous assortment of warm and neutral shades that make it so easy to create sultry, smokey eyes.  This plus the Modern Renaissance Palette are a match made in eyeshadow heaven.  Together, they have all the shades I need to pack on a trip.

LIQUID EYELINER

Wet n Wild H2O Proof LinerWet n Wild H2O Proof Liner: This is my holy grail liquid eyeliner, from drugstore to high-end!  The formula glides on so smoothly, dries to a matte, pitch-black finish, and stays on until you wash it off.  It does not budge!  I have backups upon backups of these.

Seraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid LinerSeraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Liquid Liner:  I received this eyeliner pen in an Ipsy Glam Bag (blogpost here) and was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed.  The felt tip makes it easy to draw a sharp, precise wing while the formula is pitch black.  I like using this to create the wing, then going in with the Wet n Wild Liner to fill in the rest.

EYELINER PENCIL

Wet n Wild On Edge Longwearing Eye Pencil in You're the YinWet n Wild On Edge Longwearing Eye Pencil in You’re the Yin:  I’ve yet to find a cream eyeliner that stays on “all day” on my bottom lashline, but this is one of the longest lasting ones I’ve tried from the drugstore.  The formula is creamy, pitch black, and glides on easily on the waterline.

GEL EYELINER

Makeup Geek Gel Liner in ImmortalMakeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal:  Admittedly, I pretty much switched over entirely to liquid eyeliners in 2017, but this was my favorite gel eyeliner back in the day.  It is pitch black and stays put.  Nowadays, I like using this as a black base to make eyeshadows pop, but I recommend working quickly to blend it out, because once it sets, it doesn’t budge.

MASCARA

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect MascaraEssence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara: I have been obsessed with this mascara ever since my Essence Cosmetics haul (blogpost here).  The perfect-sized brush helps grab those small lashes in the inner/outer corners.  The formula is jet-black and quickly builds volume and length to your lashes.  The doll-like packaging is adorable and you can’t beat the price.Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara ReviewMake Up For Ever Excessive Lash: This high-end mascara is actually one of the few that is worth its price tag.  The narrow brush reaches every single lash, quickly building length and volume.  The formula is pitch black and doesn’t flake or smudge throughout the day.  This was included in my Top 5 Mascaras blogpost which you can find here.

EYEBROW PENCIL

Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium BrownAnastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown:  This thin pencil quickly fills in brows with natural looking hairs and includes a spoolie on the other end to blend the product out.  The Medium Brown shade matches me perfectly while the brows last all day.  My only gripe with this product is its price tag, which is why I save it for special events or when I’m taking Instagram photos 😉Colourpop Eyebrow Pencil in Bangin' BrunetteColourpop Eyebrow Pencil in Bangin’ Brunette:  For everyday, this brow pencil from Colourpop is a great affordable dupe of the ABH Brow Wiz.  It has an equally fine tip, while the formula is pigmented and longlasting.

FALSE LASHES

Pur Pro Eyelashes in BombshellPur Pro Eyelashes in Bombshell:  These lashes are gorgeous, very long and fluttery.  The thin lash band makes it easy to blend into your own lash line, although for myself, these are anything but natural looking.  These look intense on my smaller eyes, in person, but they photograph beautifully.

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your favorite eye makeup products?  Stay tuned for the Favorite Lip Products Edition coming your way soon! 😉

Mary Dee
