Boxycharm October 2017 Unboxing and First Impressions

Boo!!! ? I hope everyone is having a Happy Halloween so far ? Today, I’ll be reviewing the contents of October’s Boxycharm!  You can find my review on last month’s Boxycharm here.  Boxycharm is my favorite beauty subscription box that provides 5-6 full-sized items for $21/month.  What I love about Boxycharm is that the value of all the luxury products always well exceed the $21 price.

October’s theme is Spellbound and comes with 5 products.Boxycharm October 2017 Unboxing and First Impressions

  1. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Prosecco Pop – $38 (sephora.com)

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Prosecco PopBest-selling creamy highlighter powder that will light up the features you love with a high-shine finish (excerpt).  I saw in IG sneak peeks that people received either the Pressed Powder or Liquid Highlighter and I was so excited to receive the former, as I knew I would get more mileage out of it ✊ I’ve tested out Prosecco Pop before in the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette (review here) and enjoyed it immensely.  Prosecco Pop is a lovely gold shade that has a very creamy and reflective formula.  You can apply with a light hand for a soft glow or pile it on for some major shimmer.  I’m stoked that Boxycharm included a full-sized Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector.Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Prosecco PopBecca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Prosecco PopBecca Highlighter in Prosecco Pop SwatchesBecca Highlighter in Prosecco Pop Swatches

  1. Jonteblu Lip Liner Pencil in Brown Sugar – $5 (jonteblu.com)

Jonteblu Lip Liner Pencil in Brown SugarThe creamy, highly pigmented formula glides on effortlessly.  Can be used for flawless lip contouring, worn alone, or as a long-lasting base for any lip color (exerpt).  This is a fabulous lip pencil for only $5.  I was pleasantly impressed with the creamy and pigmented formula.  The pencil added the perfect amount of definition to the lips and worked wonderfully with the Tarte Lip Paint in the box as well.  Brown Sugar is a flattering terracotta shade that would look amazing with Fall’s brown lipsticks.Jonteblu Lip Liner Pencil in Brown Sugar Swatches

  1. Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Homeslice – $20 (sephora.com)

Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in HomesliceA full coverage, transfer-proof liquid lipstick with a quick-dry matte finish (excerpt).  This Lip Paint wasn’t messing around when it claimed to be quick-dry, as I had to find out.  The tapered doe-foot applicator made it easy to define the lips, but you have to work fast as it dries down almost instantly.  Homeslice is a flattering peachy nude shade with a very lightweight, mousse-like texture.  Once the product dried down, it didn’t budge or transfer, while remaining comfortable throughout the day.  Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in HomesliceTarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Homeslice SwatchesTarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Homeslice Swatches

  1. Dr. Brant PoreDermabrasion – $58 (sephora.com)

Dr. Brant PoreDermabrasionPore-perfecting technology at your fingertips, with a professional-grade micro-crystal solution, that instantly deep-cleans and refines pores. (exerpt).  I love using an exfoliating scrub every 2-3 days, but I admit, I haven’t gotten around to trying this one yet as my skin has been imbalanced between the stress of the move and the change to a drier climate.  I’ve heard great things about this PoreDermabrasion though and look forward to trying it soon.  For the $58 price tag, I expect to be blown away 😉

  1. NCLA “Nailed It” Tool Kit – $18 (shopncla.com)

NCLA "Nailed It" Tool KitThis five piece set instantly freshens up your manicure no matter where you are (exerpt).  I love how cute and compact this Nail Kit is.  It is the perfect size for packing on my travels and has everything I need to fix up my nails in a pinch.  I particularly like the cuticle scissors, which I use to trim my eyebrows instead ?NCLA "Nailed It" Tool Kit

Overall Rating:  I am very pleased with this month’s Boxycharm so I award it a rating of 10/10 stars.  October’s box had a combined value of $139, far exceeding the $21 price tag.  I was very satisfied with the overall product selection and their performance.  My favorite picks of the batch are the Becca Prosecco Pop Highlighter and Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint.

Did you enjoy your Boxycharm?  Which products are you most excited to test out?

Mary Dee
