August Monthly Empties and Reviews

Hiii, y’all!  Today we will be going over the Product Empties from the month of August.  I was on the road quite a bit last month so I’m light on the makeup empties, but steadily going through my stash of travel-sized samples 😉  Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.

MAKEUPAugust Monthly Empties and Reviews

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser:  This is a great drugstore concealer that feels lightweight, while providing medium to full coverage.  However, because this Medium shade was too light to be an undereye concealer for myself personally, I used this solely as my eye primer and the tube lasted me forever.  I would totally repurchase this if Maybelline expanded their shade range to include deeper tones.

Prestige Brow Perfection Brow Pencil:  This was one of the first eyebrow pencils I’ve ever used and I adored it.  The Medium/Dark shade matched my coloring perfectly, the formula was creamy, yet long lasting, and I loved that they included a spoolie on the other end.  I believe this brand is no longer carried at Ulta, but you could still order from the website.

Jordana Easyliner Retractable Lip Pencil in Rock n’ Rose: Jordana makes one of my favorite affordable lipliners at the drugstore.  Their formula is so creamy and pigmented.  Because this pencil is retractable, you don’t have use a sharpener at all, which is so convenient on the go.  Rock n’ Rose is my perfect nude lipliner shade.  I have backups upon backups of this beautiful color 😉

SKINCAREAugust Monthly Empties and Reviews

Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes:  Are you sick of seeing these Costco Makeup Remover Wipes empties yet? ? They are so affordable, gently removes my face makeup, and doesn’t leave a filmy residue on my skin.  These remain my current favorite makeup wipes and I will continue to repurchase.

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator:  I received a sample of this exfoliating cleanser in a previous Ipsy Glam Bag and the hubby loved it so much that we purchased a full sized for him ? This gently exfoliates with ultra fine microbeads, rinses completely clean, but doesn’t strip the skin of moisture.  It’s definitely on the pricey side for a cleanser, but worth it.

Clinique Turnaround Daytime Moisturizer in Golden Glow:  I packed this moisturizer on a trip and gave it several tries, but it just did not work for me at all.  The formula is runny, yet it left my skin looking oily without feeling moisturized, and I am not a fan of the glittery sparkles.  I would not recommend or repurchase this.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist:  This Tarte packaging is super cute, while the spray pump dispensed a fine layer, which I enjoyed.  The facial mist smelled fresh and clean, like oranges, which felt very refreshing.  Unfortunately, it irritated my skin so I’ll be sticking with my tried and true Mario Badescu Rose Water.  I would not repurchase, but I am keeping the travel- friendly spray bottle to pack on future trips 😉

The Ordinary Skincare Advanced Retinoid 2%:  This retinol has a milky, liquidy consistency (appetizing I know) that absorbs quickly into the skin.  The scent reminds me of corn oil, which I don’t mind, because the less added fragrances to my skincare, the better.  This didn’t irritate my skin at all upon application and added an extra layer of moisturization to my nighttime routine.  I had high hopes for this to brighten my dark spots, but after finishing the entire bottle with daily use, I don’t see much of a difference.  I would not repurchase another.

BODYCARESt Ives Lotion Review

St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion:  I love how easy and convenient it is to spray this all over after a shower, quickly rub it in, and then be on your merry way.  This has a delicious warm shea butter scent and feels so lightweight on, perfect for the hot summer months.  I would recommend and repurchase this.

HAIRCAREDryBar Detox Dry Shampoo Review

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo: The Batiste Dry Shampoo is still my holy grail, but this Drybar one was the perfect size to throw in my luggage.  It does a decent job of soaking up excess oil in between shampoos, refreshing the hair, and doesn’t leave a gray cast on dark hair if you rub it in really well, but I am not a fan of the scent.  I can’t justify its higher price point either so I’ll be sticking with beloved Batiste when I’m not traveling.

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your August Empties?  I would love to hear about your product recommendations so please leave a comment below 🙂
