April Monthly Empties and Reviews

Happy Tuesday, y’all!  Today we will be going over the Product Empties from April.  This month, we are light on the makeup, but heavy on the skincare empties.  Each of these products will be accompanied by a mini review, and recommendation on whether or not I would repurchase.

E.L.F. Makeup Mist & Set:  I’m pretty sure you’re sick of seeing this by now ?.  I have gone through numerous bottles of these as this is my favorite drugstore makeup setting spray, ever!  This mist extends the longevity of my makeup while smoothing out my skin when I’ve over-powdered.  I will, of course, continue to repurchase.

Shara Shara Real Sauce Strawberry Mask:  I received this sheet mask in a Memebox, a box of curated Korean Skincare based on your skin type.  It smells so good, like strawberries, and felt very cooling on the skin.  I didn’t see a huge difference in brightening after usage, but it did leave my skin feeling moisturized.  I have another one of these in my stash that I will happily use in the future.

Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator:  I received this exfoliating cleanser in a previous Ipsy Glam Bag and left it in the shower to test out.  Well, the hubs helped himself to the product and loved it so much that we purchased a full sized for him ?. This gently exfoliates with ultra fine microbeads, rinses completely clean, but doesn’t strip the skin of moisture.  It’s definitely on the pricey side for a cleanser, but worth it.

Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes:   This product is another repeat Empties offender ?.  I adore these Costco Makeup Remover Wipes.  They are so affordable, gently removes my face makeup, and doesn’t leave a filmy residue on my skin.  These remain my current favorite makeup wipes and I will continue to repurchase.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Emulsion:  I’ve purchased this Emulsion quite a few times since discovering the Etude House Moistfull line.  It smells fruity and fresh, and feels very lightweight on the skin.  I would recommend this for anyone venturing into Korean skincare, but I will not be repurchasing, solely because I want to expand my horizons and try some different Korean brands.

Air Repair Complexion-Boosting Moisturizer:  This was another sample I received from Ipsy and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it.  This cream contained hyaluronic acid that claims to plump and hydrate the skin.  I did feel the thicker consistency provided enough moisture for my dry skin and made for a nice base underneath my makeup.  I loved this moisturizer and would recommend.

Sulwhasoo Skincare Set:  My girlfriend picked up this set for me when she was traveling through Asia.  It contained a First Care Activating Serum, Essential Balancing Water, and Essential Balancing Emulsion.  The travel friendly packaging is super cute and I love the herbal spa-like scent of the products.  I incorporated all three into my skincare routine.  While I am so grateful for this gift set, unfortunately, I did not see a huge difference in my overall skin texture and tone.  For the high price tag, I will not be repurchasing.

BODYCARE20170506_154943

Bath & Body Works Sparkling Limoncello Shower Gel:  This shower gel lathers up nicely, rinses clean, and leaves a very light lemon scent on the skin that won’t clash with your scented body lotion or perfume.  Limoncello smells semi-sweet, but very fresh and clean, so it can be unisex.  I quite enjoyed this while it lasted, but will likely try a different fragrance in the future.

Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbana Body Lotion:  This lotion was lightweight, fairly moisturizing, and left a longlasting pina colada scent on the skin.  It totally reminds me of a Caribbean beach everytime I wore it.  YUM!  Again, I enjoyed this product, but I will unlikely repurchase as I prefer a thicker body cream/butter.

HAIRCARE20170506_154716

Batiste Dry Shampoo: This is my holy grail dry shampoo.  It soaks up excess oil in between shampoos, refreshes the hair, and doesn’t leave a gray cast on dark hair if you rub it in really well.  I quite enjoyed Wild, a musky vanilla scent, and would repurchase again and again.

Eva Nyc Get Glossed Hair Serum:   Ah yes, the last sample from a previous Ipsy Glambag.  I like to apply a small amount of hair oils to the ends of my damp hair to smooth flyaways and add shine.  This has a yummy cocoa butter scent, but I didn’t see a huge difference in the manageability of my hair.  For that reason, I won’t be repurchasing.

Hooray!  It’s so rewarding to finally be able to recycle these empty containers after hanging onto them for the entire month 😉 Thank you for making it to the end of my blogpost!  I’m aiming to have two more posts by the end of the week so stay tuned for that coming your way! ?

Have you tried any of these products?  What are your April Empties?

XO,

Mary Dee
